What was wrong with the Soaring Dragon Strike attack in the original that had to be fixed in the new one, I never noticed anything.

Well, there wasn't really anything wrong with them in the original version, but in the greatest hits release, Teen Gohan's dragon strike gets a more bluish dragon unleashed when he uses that attack, and adult Gohan actually gets a very quick dragon animation for when he unleashes it that's similar to Teen Gohan's. You'll notice a difference if you have both releases. IMO, they have been improved for the better.

EDIT: Gotta love this greatest hits release, just tryed out Kid Goku against Piccolo Daimao, the Super Dragon Fist never looked better.

I tried that playing as Goku but didn't get any kind of split screen. Does it matter which one you play as?

Ugh. Evidently, the GH version is more popular than I thought. Both of my local Best Buys were sold out, as well as Gamestop, and EB doesn't even have the game in the database. Everywhere I went looking for it, people asked me if it was even out yet. :?

Of course, I already got a copy from Fry's a month ago.. it's just not the right version. So I'm gonna hand that copy down to a friend who wants it and play the slots again rather than wait God-knows-how long for Atari to send me the fixed version. Especially if you guys are saying there are correct copies out there.

... I want armored Trunks, dammit.. ;_;

There is no split screen effect. A guy on the Ps2 DBZ game forum used (I'm guessing) photoshop or windows movie maker to paste the two shots of Goku flying and Piccolo Daimao's blocking together. Sorry to burst your bubble. ^^

Cool, I've always thought that the Soaring Dragon Strike was a good video game original move. It's a nice power up/physical attack for him. I'm looking faword to taking advantage of all of these improvements and additions when I purchase the new version.

Awesome new tibit I've just discovered; the DU of Broly's looks different Earth wise, in terms of the sky and planet rivers. It now looks more like a hazy planet with the Kaioshin planet's water. It's an odd change, but I love it when you consider this is Broly's DU. Also, DU flashbacks now actually look like flashbacks, not that plain black-and-white format from the original version. I also like how new backgrounds have been designed for certain cut-scenes (Buu's innards for when Kabitoshin and Old Kaioshin talk about Vegito's separation, the Saiyan space-pod and Trunks time-capsule getting their own backgrounds when you land at those areas). I can't believe how many improvements I keep seeing as I play along, it's crazy.

Um... Walmart, EB Games, GameStop, Amazon.com... anywhere fine games are sold.

Look for the game in Ohio, Son_Gokou, a friend of mine, and myself have all gotten the correct version on our first purchase. Considering Son_Gokou got it at Walmart and I got it at Best Buy, all I can say is go to one of those stores in Ohio.

Now -THAT- is playing the slots at getting the right one. Wal*Mart was notorious for having the misprint copies all through December and January. I've seen it there, but I'm not taking the risk.

Conan - No, the one I was at was near Columbus. It is the next closest one to the Best Buy I work at. Some of our employees transferred there and I stop in to shop and say hello at the other one sometimes. Maybe that Budokai 3 is still there? Who knows I'll have to go check it out.

Murphy's law is in full affect for me. The computer at work says we have 7 copies of Greatest Hits Budokai 3 in stock, when we have 1 original copy left and nothing else. I searched the whole damn store at the end of my shift today and couldn't locate anything. Oh well, I'll just go look somewhere else this weekend. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this release. It sounds so much better than I even first thought.

As far as the Soaring Dragon Strike goes, I know it does not appear exactly like that in the series, not any attack by that name. However, I seem to remember Super Saiyan 2 Gohan uppercutting Perfect Cell in a very similar style. Does anyone else recall this or is it my imagination? My cousin thought so too when we played over Christmas. We came to the conclusion that it was basically a powerful uppercut used against Cell in the anime that they increased the effects for and gave a special name to.

Edit: Either that or they merely used some moves seen in Ultimate Battle 22 on the PS1. Gohan did the same uppercut on that game. Goten has that move he did on UB22 where he jumps up in the air and headbutts someone. It is also in Budokai 3. Did Goten ever do that move that anyone can recall in the series?

Question, though it was probably answered. Does everyone in DU have voice lines? As in, you don't have the scenario where someone will say something with a voice over, and the next statement will be silent?

Also, do they talk in the lesson thing?

No, B-kun, not everyone has voice overs in DU, for some reason. But, I guess it's not that bad, since we've got our Japanese voices.

Just discovered something I thought didn't make it from the Japanese version of the game, when you press start during battle and go to the skill list, press R1 and you'll get a complete list on all possible physical combos for your fighter. This definitely comes in handy for me, and I know this addition isn't available in the original release. Akira, definitely try the Best Buy you saw that one copy at, my guess is it's definitely the correct version. As someone already stated, the correct version releases have been making their ways into stores since last month, and you probably have a true Budokai 3 waiting right there on the shelf.

Yes, they talk in all the training chapters. The dub VAs don't, but when you have the Japanese VAs selected (which I'm now never turning off), then you get to hear them voice all-out.

Goten charged Trunks in that same fassion from very high up in the air during their battle in the World Martial Arts Tournament.

I bought that copy today, I made a trip up to the other end of town to get it. Unfortunately, it was the misprint version. I cannot find the game at ANY store in the town I work at, and I am not seeing it anywhere else when I go to other parts of Columbus. I am wondering if I can even find the correct version.

At least since I work for Best buy it was only a $16 screw up instead of a $22 one. :(

Well, since you can't seem to find the correct version, a good way about going about getting it is following these instructions, the most money you'll have to spend is $7 or so for mailing, but you'll have your correct version within a couple weeks. I'll admit, I bitched about having to do that, but then again I got lucky and found the correct version at Best Buy. Son_Gokou and I both got the last releases at our own respective stores, so I won't suggest driving up to one of our cities.

Yeah I think sending it in as an exchange to Atari is your best bet. That's what I did and I got my correct version in three weeks I think. Maybe it was two.
