Not in my book. Except if you mean Super Perfect Cell (my bad for not being more specific), which could be possible. Movie 8 Broli should be at least equal to Perfect Cell, and Movie 10 Broli at least equal to Super Perfect Cell.TheMightyOzaru wrote:I agree with all of that except for the 6th one. I have Perfect Cell above Movie 8 Broly and I have Super Perfect Cell above Movie 10 Broly. It's quite possible that Cell can take Broly alone. Besides Cell could easily blow himself up and regenerate giving him a Zenkai if that didn't already kill Broly.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Not in my book. Re: Dragon Ball things you never want to hear again
1. Menza's GT score and Nathan Johnson's score.
While I don't think that Faulconer's score fits Z in any way, shape, or form, I find it tolerable for what it is, but the two aforementioned scores are the soulless pieces of garbage I have ever had the displeasure of hearing. Menza's GT score is, like Faulconer's, performed on some cheap synthesizer but has zero energy and is possible the most depression music to ever accompany an anime. As for Johnson's score, even a high volumes I can barely hear and I finally can hear I soon wish for it to recede into the background again. I... don't even how to properly describe Johnson's music or what genre it should fall under. It's like he tried to fuse the subtlety of Kikuchi's score with the "hardcoreness" of Faulconer and failed HORRIBLY. IMO, Johnson's score is THE worse English score.
2. People confusing SSJ with SSJ2.
Seriously? One has a wave-like aura with no sparks and a much brighter shade of blonde hair, and the other has a blazing aura with sparks coming off in every which way and has an almost marigold color of hair. What's the confusion?

No, I'm talking about specifically the Perfect Cell that even though he went full power (not the Power-Weighted form) to Gohan, he got his ass kicked, and specifically the Super Perfect Cell that got eradicated by SS2 Gohan's Kamehameha. No other near-death power-ups.TheMightyOzaru wrote:A Zenkai would increase his power so that applies.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:That's another story. Re: Dragon Ball things you never want to hear again
Why don't Zenkais count? Its a likely situation in the battle assuming he would need to blow himself up. Furthermore Gohan would have lost if Gohan hadn't dug deeper into his power with the help of Goku's encouragement. That aside though even without Zenkais Cell could be stronger and IMO he is. I don't see why you find it agitating when people say Cell could handle Broly alone when its entirely possible.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:No, I'm talking about specifically the Perfect Cell that even though he went full power (not the Power-Weighted form) to Gohan, he got his ass kicked, and specifically the Super Perfect Cell that got eradicated by SS2 Gohan's Kamehameha. Let's say that Cell's battle power is X, and Broli's battle power is Y. Don't count skills & abilities, this is not a battle. It's just a comparison of battle powers. I don't believe that X >>>> Y. Do you understand what I'm trying to say now?

Dub sensitivity is another one. I get that pointing out the dub's flaws has been done, but ten or so people complaining about one person voicing a complaint with the dub seems like overkill. No one evee seems to want to refute or have a discussion about it either; it's always "do you need to talk about this again? Leave the dub alone!
".

Re: Dragon Ball things you never want to hear again
I can't speak for everyone of course, but I'm more than willing to discuss the problems with the dub. From my POV though, it always usually seems to be a problem of the other side going 'Nope, you're wrong, it sucks, lalalalala' essentially. Either way though, both sides are at fault, yeah.B wrote:Dub sensitivity is another one. I won't begrudge anyone for finding it to be a guilty pleasure, though. Especially if that was present when you got into the show.
The first time I heard this I thought to myself "what the FUCK is this??". But then again, I grew up with the latin spanish version of Head-cha-la.
I can see why people would nostalgia over Rock the Dragon though. That's how they were introduced to the show. I think I would like it too if I was introduced with it.

Re: Dragon Ball things you never want to hear again
The battle powers are actually the only thing that would tempt me to believe Toriyama was planning to end after Freeza, because they jumped from 9000 being high in the Saiyan Saga to , what Freeza being 120 Million. They just got so high it seemed very 'final boss-ish'
Re: Dragon Ball things you never want to hear again
Even in the Saiyan Saga alone, they went from 1,500 being "Oh shit!" (Raditz) to 180,000 (Oozaru Vegeta).Majin Steve wrote:The battle powers are actually the only thing that would tempt me to believe Toriyama was planning to end after Freeza, because they jumped from 9000 being high in the Saiyan Saga to , what Freeza being 120 Million. I think it's more likely that Toriyama didn't stop to think of how long he could continue that before the numbers got too high.
