This thread is about anything, actually. Lots of posts are about not wanting to hear opinions of others for various subjects.

I have seen people that don't want to watch Japanese films from Akira Kurosawa because they are in Japanese and they are not dubbed. You also have people that think the 1998 Godzilla film is cooler then the Japanese films because it's not cheesy and stupid
. I also seen people don't watch Kamen Rider or Ultraman because most of them will say "Don't need to see some Jap crap!".
I also don't think characters like Goku, Spike and Kenshin are nowhere the side by side of Spider-Man and Batman. Nearly everyone knows who Batman and Spider-Man are since they had big budget movies that were popular and popular TV shows. I think some Americans know might know who Goku is, but most people in the US most likely don't know. My college professor had no idea who Goku was or what DBZ was until I pointed it out.

True, but Dragon Ball is arguably the most popular anime/manga series worldwide (ones that comes close are Yu-Gi-Oh! and maybe Naruto), and it's viewed as one of the embodiments of very many people's, whom of grew up in the 90's, childhoods (even non-anime fans).

How could anyone shade Dragon Ball like that. Dragon Ball spread it's legs wide during it's later years and gave birth to One Piece, Naruto and Bleach the attic child. DBZ paved the way for their success.

I've studied French & German simultaneously for a number of years and did a few years of Latin and a bit of Japanese on the side so I know how it feels to learn a foreign language, and how hard it is so I just saw an opportunity to compliment someone for their progress and I did. I get this place is more an information forum than a social forum though. Just trying to be nice, make friends etc

Where are all these people you guys keep talking about? I've never really met anybody like this. Most people I talk to outside of this site are fond of the original Funimation dub sure but they've never claimed it to be superior to the Japanese version or anything like that. It's just the show they grew up with; the version they know and really the only version they care to know. I've never talked to anyone that was like "FUCK THE JAPANESE VERSION! SHITS GAY!" Not once, ever.
I'm talking about people complaining about Nozawa's voice not fitting Goku's character. I hear it constantly on Youtube when someone uploads a Japanese clip. I'm not talking about people getting

The thing I don't get about Hoshi, is we already had AF. Why do we need ANOTHER new fake series title for rumors to work? Did whoever started that feel that the 'AF' moniker was way too well known to be fake now or something?
