Majin Buu's name (Gotenks and Piccolo absorbed)
A long time ago when I first discovered the internet and was binging on DB stuff, I stumbled onto some summaries and translations of the manga where the Gotenks/Piccolo absorbed Majin Buu was referred to as Super Majin Buupanks or something like that. Was this an official name or just made up like Mystic Gohan?

As far as I know, that stuff was always a fandom naming thing. Can't say I ever heard Buupanks though. The ones I always heard were Buucollo (For that short moment where he's only got Piccolo), Buutenks, and Buuhan.

According to Curtis Hoffman’s manga summaries (which were written while the Buu arc was still serializing in Jump), when chapter 501 ran in Jump, a sidebar asked whether “Buu + Piccolo + Super Gotenks == Super Bupinks". Unfortunately I’ve been unable to find any other mention of this, but some Japanese fans do refer to that form as “Super Bupinks” (超ブピンクス). Maybe Julian and Pekindaq can confirm that this term was really used in Jump.

I just call him Buutenks.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

YES, those old Curtis Hoffman summaries were the references I was referring to. Ah, memories.Herms wrote:According to Curtis Hoffman’s manga summaries (which were written while the Buu arc was still serializing in Jump), when chapter 501 ran in Jump, a sidebar asked whether “Buu + Piccolo + Super Gotenks == Super Bupinks". I just call him Gotenks-Boo same basic idea the way Baby Vegeta is known as Bebi-Vegeta in the Japanese Dub.

I thought he was called Vegeta-Baby in the Japanese version. At least, that's what Elder Kaioshin and the narrator refer to him as.SSJ4_Zankuto wrote:I just call him Gotenks-Boo same basic idea the way Baby Vegeta is known as Bebi-Vegeta in the Japanese Dub.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I prefer Gotenks-Boo over Bootenks.

I think he was, yeah. Though honestly, Boo-Gotenks and Baby-Vegeta would both fit better IMO, since it's not Gotenks and Vegeta that are in charge in those forms, it's Boo and Baby...so their names should come first I'd think.Nazi Cola wrote:I thought he was called Vegeta-Baby in the Japanese version. I call him the same because it's absorption, not fusion or even conversion.
