Will he be translating that paragraph on what types of powers Birusu has since he's gotten his copy already or will you or Julian be translating it once Julian buys one?Herms wrote:Pekindaq's got his copy, and says it's 95% the same as Daizenshuu 2 and 4. New additions include the Kanzenban illustrations, Neko Majin, and...Abale-chan, the brief Dr. Slump follow-up.
If we take that 95% figure literally, since it's a 352 page book that should mean roughly 17-18 pages of new stuff. That's actually more than I was expecting.

Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
I don't think Pekindaq plans on translating anything, it's not really what he does. Julian probably will be doing at least the Toriyama interview. My copy is due to arrive Wednesday; I plan on translating any and all interesting things that Julian hasn't already gotten to by then.

Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
They just meant out of stock for the pre-order. They are available on the site again and I just bought Volume 1 so that I don't have to go searching for the original Daizenshuu just yet; those can now be more of a "if you find them cheap, buy 'em, otherwise don't worry" purchase.Fizzer wrote:When CD Japan says "out of production", does it mean that literally, or does it simply mean "temporarily out of stock"? Because it seems a bit soon for it to be out of productions.
Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
I wonder if this'll be a late-night (NJ time) update or if they're saving it for tomorrow morning (or if Julian was unable to grab a copy today).
I hope the Toriyama interview has some interesting stuff in it.

According to the Kanzenshuu Twitter account Julian does appear to have his copy of volume #1. I'm sure Jake is already sending over a list of tips for dealing with insomnia.

Should we expect anything new today?

Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
From the new Akira Toriyama interview:

Am I the only one who thinks the bolded part MAY be a reference to our good old favourite planet-buster tyrant, Lord Freeza himself? In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the God of Destruction destroys [them], but he does not act on Kaiōshin’s orders; he destroys according to his own individual judgment. Except, he is capricious, so he will destroy even an important world without a second thought, or when he finds it bothersome, let someone else act as an agent of destruction.

I couldn't help but notice that... In the Chozenshu cover, Vegeta wears his Saiyan arc armor... and Cell arc boots!

A mistake? (I know that it's actually an old drawing.)

Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking!omegalucas wrote:From the new Akira Toriyama interview:Am I the only one who thinks the bolded part MAY be a reference to our good old favourite planet-buster tyrant, Lord Freeza himself? In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the God of Destruction destroys [them], but he does not act on Kaiōshin’s orders; he destroys according to his own individual judgment. There's lots of stuff I find great there.
I find the "Seventh Universe” part very interesting. Does it mean there have been 6 other universes or that there are actually other 6 universes existing at the same time? I just wish they would develop on the theories of Planet Saiya too.
BTW, who the hell is Kuriza?? Freeza's son?? WHAT

Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

Definitely not. First thing I thought of. Sure others did too.omegalucas wrote:From the new Akira Toriyama interview:Am I the only one who thinks the bolded part MAY be a reference to our good old favourite planet-buster tyrant, Lord Freeza himself? In order to provide a balance to the constantly increasing number of planets, the God of Destruction destroys [them], but he does not act on Kaiōshin’s orders; he destroys according to his own individual judgment. Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
Is there any information omitted from the Daizenshuu?
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?
Re: The Chōzenshū databook thread: speculation, discussion,
Probably explains why the Kaioshin didn't take out Freeza. Why give Birisu more work....Sinestro wrote:Definitely not. First thing I thought of. Thank you so much for the translations! Will read in full when I get back.
I like the idea that they've expanded the series universe seven times in one fell swoop. XD
It's good, gives them room to play with if they ever want to do more new stuff with the current cast.
