The Boo arc isn't exactly the most tightly woven story arc itself. Aside from adding closure to Goku and Vegeta's rivarly, and everything before Boo was hatched it was a huge clusterfuck of mergers, transformations, and power-ups. Not to mention it's ultimately pointless, and Boo itself wasn't terribly threatening.
I agree but I still prefer the Boo arc.
The Artifical Human/Cell arc had annoying anti-hero Vegeta, an interesting new character who gets shafted almost to the background in the end (Trunks), constant new villians, Toriyama clearly not knowing what to do with them (the Artifical Humans go joy riding...

), Dr. Gero appearing from nowhere and wanting vengence on Goku, Humans with robotic parts being stronger than Freeza/Super Saiyans, Gohan suddenly becoming a pacifist for no reason in the Cell Game, retconning's Freeza's death on Namek, Cell's nucleus..
Cell appearing did make things better though. Love the build up and mystery to him appearing.
I think both arcs have the same issues overall though.
- DBZA is decent at best
Abridged? Yeah, I agree. I used to find it funny, now I just like the voice acting and editing.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.
