Volume 26?

Post by Great Saiyaman » Sat Mar 18, 2006 5:49 pm

I'm not overly farmilliar with the Japaneese Manga so I want to know, in JP, which ending the Vol.26 have...the Original, the revised, or both? Also, if only the Original, do you think Viz will give us both?

Er...huh?

If I'm reading you right; the Kanzenban (aka: the recent "perfect edition") release has just the revised ending.

As for Viz... ask again in June.

It'll be interesting to see how it's handled. Viz might just put in the Kanzenban ending! But then again, they might save it if they ever do release a Kanzenban version.

Yet another... "huh?"

Well, If I get what you're saying, the Japanese tankoubon (at least the one I got) only has the original ending. According to my knowledge, only the Kanzenban volume has the new ending (and it's in color!).

If anything, Viz might have the new chapter released in an issue of Shonen Jump after the 26th volume has already been released in English.

I think they'll release the kanzenban about a year after the tankoubon is released, but at a faster pace.

Why wouldn't they? It'd make 'em a mint.

I doubt it.

For one, they never done this with any other series(and even when an manga is rereleased stateside, it's usually the same or otherwise "restored" to it's original format, as was the case with Cardcaptor Sakura and Maison Ikkoku). Second, even in its Kanzenban format, Dragonball is a loooooong series, and they're not going to overflow the shelves with two versions of the same thing.

Personally I think it would be great if Viz added the alternative final chapter as a bonus in volume 26 though somehow I doubt they would do that.

Well, Viz did change up the grouping of the chapters in the last volume of DB and the first volume of DBZ to be able to divide up the sagas and series clearly. You never know...

That is true and it did cross my mind, but frankly I don't really know. I would if I was them, but then again I wouldn't make OP as close to the 4Kid dub and generally aim the manga at a more mature audience, the kind who would appreciate it more than 5 year old Bill, son of a Soccor Mum.

Can anybody tell me what these endings are?

I myself own a few Kanzenban's and will soon start buying the rest but since I never read the Manga before only seen the animé can anybody share what the differences between the 2 endings is?
