My theory about why Piccolo is grown-up faster then Dende

I think when Toriyama created Piccolo, he wasn't thinking that character was supposed to be a Namekian, but a demon. Thus, this one more plot hole.

It's not much of a theory, but ten again there's not much to go on. It's possible, but I've yet to see any evidence of an actual pysical difference between 'helers' and 'warriors'. I'm positive the difference is in training only. Like the difference between a soldier and a doctor.

I think the most reasonable explanation is that Piccolo-Jr was a 'clone' of Piccolo-Diamo and that type of reproduction causes the 'clone' to grow at an accelerated rate until he reaches maturity.

Why is this being talked about? We've already seen offsprings of Piccolo Daimao reaching maturety in just minutes(Cymbal and Drum). It's not hard to see how a simular case applies to Piccolo jr(albit the process appeared to have been somewhat slower in his case).

Maybe Piccolo being on Earth is a factor here. Since Nameksei had two suns, maybe Toriyama-sensei implied that since he got less radiation, he grew faster.

Well, at least we don't have a Psuedo-Piccolo running around with members of SLUG-FLUTE threatening to launch a hydrogen bomb.

I think Piccolo grew up at an accelerated pace because he is far from a "normal" Namekian. His body was packed with the life force of the Great Demon King, so his body had to grow rapidly to accomodate such power, while increasing upon it.

I think it's more likely because of the wish. When Daimao wished for Eternal Youth he suddenly de-aged to a specific age. I always figured, since Daimao forced his Life Force into Piccolo, that the Eternal Youth transfered to him as well. And, as such, his body aged to the the point where the wish had put his 'father' originally.

What's BS about it? Don't just make a statement like that. Elaborate!

It just seems a little far fetched (yeah, I know... 'DraginBall', whatever).

I think the best explanation is the "simplist" (which is rather far-fetched too)

The Namekkians are all born fron eggs, these Namekkians are not exact copies of their 'father' but rather whole 'new' people. These Namekkians grow up at an average rate.

Diamo did not want a son he wanted a clone. He wanted his life to carry on. He used the same Nemekkian reporductive method, but instead of making something 'new' he created a 'clone'.

Meh, I think it's pretty good.

I just thought it was an amusing, imaginative explanation, Xyex. Don't take it bad.

Well, see, that's the thing. Mine *is* the simplest answer. Piccolo is *supposed* to be Daimao 're-incarnated' and thus would have the same Eternal Youth he'd had as Daimao. Your idea, on the other hand, requires a long explanation. :P

It seems a lot of the time people rule out magic as a possibility for explanations in DB. True, it's a pretty good excuse when you just want to be lazy and not have to think about it, but magic also plays an important role with the whole idea of the dragonballs, especially concerning the nameks. Though in this case I'm not really sure that was the intention, even though it would make logical sense. Toriyama just doesn't seem to care about making logical sense.

I really, really want to keep this joke going, but I fear I have no place to take it, without it sucking.

...Except the idea of Daimao fighting Russians in the 1960's. Would The Boss be Mutaito?
