So what is really in those Rejuvination tanks anyway?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I've thought about this sometime last night. In the dub I remember something about Rejuvinations tanks (like on Freeza's ship or wherever), containing "synthetic Saiyajin DNA." What I'm wondering is, does it also occur in the Japanese version or is this a Funimation thing?

Only one thing could heal a space pirate that quick: Bacta.

Ah, so it's possible that the Rejuvie tanks are in reference to the Star Wars ones?

Synthetic saiyan DNA? I've never heard of that, even in the dub. Or maybe my memory is just bad.

It's almost certainly a reference to StarWars. If only in apperance.

Quite possible. There's lotsa SW inspiration within DragonBall, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know if slathering yourself with "Synthetic Sayain DNA" would help, or why Freeza's ship would have Saiyan DNA for healing to begin with. Seeing as how there's so few Saiyans left, I don't know why they'd bother. Then again, "synthetic" could mean that it's in the databanks, and Vegeta had the machine make it then on the spot.

But odds are, it was something completely different originally. Probably just some medical healing fluid or something.

Like the 3 time-pots in the Karin Tower, as a reference to something similar in the The Lord of The Rings.

Well, Toriyama did do a whole bunch of Star Wars references in Dr. Slump, so I wouldn't put it past him to do it in DBZ either.
