That's weird .
Why is the video blocked in Japan by the way? It says FUNimation owns it, but from what I know, they block videos that are detected automatically by a program that uses the original videos given by the right holders. Has FUNi licensed 2008 special?
The real question is : Why
Funimation Entertainment blocks dragonball z videos
only in Japan ? Shouldn't this be Toei's job ?

That's an interview with Masahiko Ibaraki, the chief editor of Square Jump, in which he says that there once was a plan of a sequel of Dragon Ball, but it was canceled. Incidentally the image is from one of the BoG threads on 2ch.
When was this planned for? I hope there are still chances of it happening...

The last movies (Movies 11, 12, 13, and the 10th Anniversary) didn't have either.

It would've been interesting to see Flow do the opening with actual Cha-La Head Cha-La visuals, altho, new visuals have already been done for the JSAT, so I'd wonder what else they could do instead of rehashing that

It was a little brighter than his kaioken hair.
Oh wow! It's bright? Now I'm really curious to see it in person.
Thank you, Kei!

Movies 11 and 12 had them, if I remember right. They didn't abandon the TV opening song sequences for the movies until movie 13.

For such a high budget movie this is unacceptable .
Or they do have an opening & ending theme but they are gonna use them only when the official premiere takes place
( 30.3.2013 ) and in the Dvd version as well .

They probably wanted to use the time for the movie, rather than wasting time with an opening.

I don't think it's any big shocker that there's no opening animation, in fact I fully anticipated there wouldn't be one. It's why I kept correcting people that were reporting FLOW was doing the movie's new opening theme. The original announcement simply called it the movie's theme, not denoting it as either an opening or an ending. Besides, most modern large budget full length animated theatrical films don't have opening themes these days. It's just not very common. I'd hypothesize that the only reason some of the earlier films even had opening themes was because they were being shown back-to-back with other franchise's movies. They wanted to ensure you knew what you were watching, because they were typically current running series and they wanted a distinct beginning and ending to promote that brand.

I'm fine with there being no opening, that means they had more money to spend on the actual movie.

kei17 did Piccolo did something else in his fight than that dumb looking kick? for some reason I didn't liked how that looked.

I'm ok with there being no opening animation. I would like one, but if I had to choose, yeah I'd rather have the time spent on the movie itself which is what they ended up doing.
12 or so more hours til the March 16th screening.
http://ameblo.jp/yoyocom69/ 's going to that one.

He talked about that already kinda.

Did you mean that the Karaoke scene was only one still image and that was his most memorable moment in the movie or was it something else?
The karaoke image only lasts a few seconds, so it's not his most memorable moment. It would be... when he fights Birusu, but falls unconscious with his few jab with a finger, I guess.

Yes I knew that but I asked if Piccolo does more than just that kick, like a few punches or something. I really didn't liked that kick.

That's what I think as well. It's cool to learn something new everyday.

I hope the reception to the movie changes is mind and he decides to make a new manga or at least a couple of more movies.

13 and anniversary yes, but others had We Gotta Power.
I think it's weird for a MOVIE in theathre to have series like opening.

In the Alternate Timeline, it is revealed by Future Bulma that he had passed away sometime before Age 780. However, it is unknown what his cause of death was, he could have been killed when the Androids destroyed West City or from natural cause.
Guess that was an anime scene. Still hes nowhere to be scene 17 years later.
