Weirdest lies people have told you about the series?

When I was first getting into Dragon Ball Z, someone informed me that Vegeta and Bulma have a daughter named Bra. I was drawing a collage of Vegeta's family, and I didn't know who Bra was, nor did I have access to the internet back then. So, I asked that person what Bra looked like, and he showed me a picture of Android 18. Now I didn't know who she was, so i beleived him. Later, like 3 or 5 years, I find out she is not related to Vegeta. What a twist right?

Another lie I received was from another friend who said that the last episode of Dragon Ball GT, a huge villian kills all of the Z warriors. I later found out that it wasn't true, obviously

Drawing characters when you don't know what they look like. Haha, I've done that before.

I remember in 2000 I think, I was drawing some DBZ stuff, and wanted to draw Cell. But at the time, TV had only shown up to around Freeza or so, and I didn't know what he looked like.

I worked from a bunch of little pictures I found, but the resulting drawing was horrendous. It turned out I drew him using ALL his forms as reference, and piecing parts together.

Wow, do you happen to still have your horrendous drawing of Cell? I think I threw my collage of Vegeta's family away a long time ago.

You know, I am now trying to picture what Cell would look like with parts of his different forms combined on him.

A general lie from the series that was believed by many when I first got into DBZ was the Brolli was stronger than anyone else... ever.

It's feels good to know that you're better informed nowadays (for the most part, at least).

I recall that all the most outrageous fabrications came from what some of my old friends thought was cut out of the dubbed version. Most of it's all been mentioned already, but I'll always remember those early days when there wasn't any way to tell what we we're missing out on.

I just keep hearing that! But as it goes...

*whispers* I'm not sure Brolli was so Legendary afterall... in the Movie, Goku not only beats him (*sings* with a little help from mah' friends) but Brolli's like, 'What are you!?' I'm not sure what that insinuates.. but more to the point, after that, Gohan, Goten and Trunks beat him, and in the last movie JUST Goten and Trunks beat him... o_O it makes me curious as to whether people watch the movies before saying these things... probably not.

Nah, I destroyed it way back when I found out it was inaccurate, and did a proper drawing of him.

Yes, it is probably for the best, you wouldn't want to show someone an awkward image of a Dragon Ball character. They'll think you don't know what the original characters really looked like. Then you would be embarassing yourself. Oh, I just remembered another lie, Broli is stronger than Gogeta.

I solved this lie by searching online for Gogeta's power level versus Broli's. My friend was so stubborn when I told him Gogeta is stronger. I think, to this day, he still thinks Broli is stronger. *shakes head in disappointment*

Most sites had power levels after the Trunks episodes.

Anything you find after "Trunks" and "5" when he was supressed before fighting Freeza isn't official, and always made up, educated or (usually) otherwise.. Oddly, most sites use the same list, which happens to be among the worst set of estimations possible.

No no, actually, I have a number of awkward, downright bad DragonBall images on my site.
But, their clothes / design is at least accurate enough in them. It's the quality of the pictures themselves that suck ass.

Yeah, I was hit by that one.

Couple of years ago, I hadn't seen much of the series, and barely knew much 'cept from what I knew out of Budokai. One of the sites I looked on said Bulma knew martial arts O_O

Well, back in the day when the Namek saga was aired I watched it together with my little brother and my sister. Suddenly my sister said she heared from a friend that Vegeta and Bulma would get together and had a kid. I was like "Yeah, right. She's obviously NOT watching DBZ!". Anyhow, I was pretty shocked when it turned out to be true, after watching the Trunks saga.

Also when the Cell saga was airing I had all these magazines but no internet. I saw a group picture in the Buu saga, and that's how I knew that #18 didn't get absorbed at all (which I told my father while watching the episodes, I was pretty shocked when she DID get absorbed), had a daughter with Kuririn (which was true) and that Goku got himself a little clone (which later turned out to be his son, Goten).

I also assumed that Bulma and Vegeta became bikers in DBGT, because I saw a picture with Vegeta holding Bra, and I assumed he was holding Bulma there.

So, basically people didn't tell me a whole lot, I just assumed things by looking at pictures.

The biggest lie I was told about DBZ by a friend when I first started to watch was that Goku and Yamcha were brothers because they both wore orange, and also that Yamcha was Goku's evil twin.

A friend of mine always said he had seen future episodes from the French version of DBZ (actually, he only saw the Buu Saga) and, at that time we were watching the Saiya-jin Saga. After Piccolo was killed, we were wondering how they would ressurect the others and he told me they would go to Heaven to speak with Saichourou (we had the French opening which showed clips from the Saiya-jin and Freeza Saga so, we saw Gohan next to Saichourou and him giving Gohan his power up, although not knowing who that was).

He also told me that when Freeza was going to shoot a ki blast at Goku, Kaiou would teleport in front of it and died protecting Goku. He then said Goku would elbow Freeza's head and brake that purple spot he has on his head and that his power would go to Goku and thus, having Freeza defeated

I also thought Trunks was an evil Saiya-jin woman after having seen an image of him in Saiyan armor with short hair.

EDIT: Almost forgot, my friend also said Bulma was turning Super Saiya-jin and would help fighting the cyborgs (by that time, she had that afro haircut

)
