The only one I'd consider buying the redub of is Movie 3. I really want to hear T u r l e s with the va they used for Greed on fma.

Hmm, interesting title... I don't like it myself, really. Like everyone else, I expected they would keep it a bit like the original japanese title, like "Exploding Dragon Fist" or something.

Anyhow, if it comes out on DVD, also here in the Netherlands where I live (I'll have to visit specialty stores for that) I'll definitely buy it, just because it has the japanese version on it in nice quality.

By the way, does FUNimation still do their subs in yellow? I own the Trunks special DVD and the subs look horrible. Bleh, yellow. :x

"Wrath of the Dragon"

..Eh, kinda makes it sound more like a title fit for the Evil Dragons arc of GT. o_O; Especially considering the Dragon Fist scene only occurs at the end of the movie for pretty much just a minute or so. Even though the Japanese title's relatively the same by mentioning the Dragon Fist, it at least makes the notion that Goku has to defeat the enemy of this movie.

"Exploding Dragon Fist" probably woulda been a better choice.

Though it is suprising to see the movie getting such an early release. o_o Between the end of March to nearly the end of August is actually pretty quick.

Why does there appear to be so much surprise over the release date? March/August has been the release pattern for the last few films.

'Wrath of the Dragon'; isn't that title, like, already taken?
-Well, Goku's dragonfist kills Hildegarn by wrapping itself around him...so I guess thats what the whole movie's about.

Wrath of the Dragon=Squeezing itself around Hildegarn.-
So movie 4 should be, 'Wrath of the Spirit' BOMB, and Movie 11 should be, 'Wrath of the Kame'hameha?

Interesting it's coming out so soon ^_^; I feel more secure about FUNi handling Movie 13 than 12; (13's only my SECOND favourite) I supose the surprise about this is that Movie12 was so recently released... and Movie 13 is the penultimate dubbing job. T_T

I don't think they'll keep that name... infact I have a doubt that's even the chosen name. People in the industry tend to have an 'OMG, that's so tacky, it'll never work' filter.

Baddy = demon
Heroes = Trunks, Tapion, Gohan, Goku
Final Attack = Ryu Ken; Dragon Fist (it's a ki attack, not a dragon XP)

In a previous thread, Li'l Lemmy decided to play God and wrote:2. The FUNimation release of DBZ Movie 13 will be dubbed Dragonfist Assault, or it may contain "Tapion" in the title. (Someone suggested "Legend of Tapion".)
WTF?! Wrath of the Dragon? That sure as hell blows my guess out of the water. I didn't even stand a chance with a title like that.

It almost sounds like an incomplete title, as though it were supposed to be Wrath of the Dragonfist (which might make just a bit more sense). FUNimation sure went with an unusually and unnecessarily confusing title there . . . but hey, as long as they don't touch the awesome SSJ3 Goku cover art, I could even live with Hildegarn Unleashed.

Kudos to FUNimation for releasing this move far earlier than any of us could have anticipated.

Eh, not so surprised by the release date since FUNi has the Ultimate Uncut DVD's to milk now (and eventually the first 13 episodes of DB and such), and the title could be a lot worse.

Still, I wish it was just 'DBZ Movie 13: "ZOMG! GOKU KNOWS F,D,DF + P!!!1"' ;p

I hear you. I really hope they don't change that at all.

I guess the title won't be so bad after all if they keep the cover...

Although this is true, FUNi also did have a weird pattern with its movie releases.

2001 only saw the releases of DB Movie 3 and DBZ Movie 4.
2002 saw the releases of DBZ Movies 5 and 6.
2003 had DB Movie 4 and DBZ Movies 7 and 8.
2004 had only DBZ Movie 9.
2005 saw DB Movie 2 (DVD release) and DBZ Movies 10 and 11.
2006 got DBZ Movie 12 and is getting DBZ Movie 13.

2001 and 2002 had two movies release each year. 2003 had three movies released, while 2004 only had one movie out. 2005 got out three movies while 2006 seems to only have two out.

It's just rather odd. And I'm not counting the Dead Zone redub since it was already available on DVD before, whereas Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle wasn't so widely available and was only on VHS (Dead Zone was out on VHS, DVD and Laserdisc).

Not only all of that..but we're actually getting two good movies in the same year. :P

Eh, Wrath of the Dragon doesn't sound like a bad name for the final movie I s'pose.

BTW, I mentioned on another thread about this that Kyle Hebert (and also Kevin M. Conolly for some background characters) had already recorded for Gohan/Saiyaman back in December of 2005, before he moved to L.A., so it's not TOO big of a surprise that it's coming out this early.

In all honestly, while it isn't a horrible title [and I myself am totally flexible enough to deal with it, since I get what I want out of the release, namely the movie itself in both formats,] I definitely would have prefered Lemmy's suggested title of "Dragonfist Assault", and even-so-far with the latter of "The Legend of Tapion"; either of those, in my mind would have been better titles than that of which they've gone with.

Anyway, with the release as close as it is, I am just happy that they're going to be releasing it this year, and even more amused by the only delay being 4 months.

I don't like the title. I expected, at the very least, for them to keep the full word "Dragonfist" and then surround it with words resembling attack or explosion.

Other then that, joyeous to know I'll be getting my hands on the JP version + Daimao's subs on DVD in just a few months.

There's no denying that Funimation can be a tad strange when it comes to release patterns, but the last four Z movies(9, 10, 11 and 12) have been released in a pretty consistant manner, and number 13 is being released in the same month that 9 and 11 were released in their respective year. Thus, I find the apparent amazement over the "early release" for movie 13 to be a little... odd.

Well, I suppose the reasoning for this would be the comparison between Japan's releases opposed to the US' releases. Considering Japan's nearing the Garlic Jr. arc on DVD, the US still hasn't finished the Saiyan saga in uncut DVDs, I think the focus suddenly shifts when an announcement and a title are revealed for the next movie just after having gotten a movie.

Kinda like a slap to the face out of suprise. :P

Well I got in a little late on this topic.

"Wrath of the Dragon?" That's pretty good, I guess. Yeah, like Lemy, I was expecting something closer to the original, or something about Hildegarn or Tapion.

Could be worse, though; much worse.

No, no it couldn't. Even Funimation isn't -that- ridiculous. All the same, I think the current name is relatively 'bottom of the barrel', on the all-in-all.

Probably just rushing it out to post, and slapping a name on it, so they can get it out the door and focus on their EE's [which is shaping up to be competitive with Toei's releases].

The title could be worse, it could be something like "Super Deciding Battle for the Entire Planet Earth" or "The Galaxy at the Brink!! The Super Incredible Guy":P

That wouldn't be 'worse' from our point of view, though, would it?

From where I am sitting, it would be the end-all-be-all of accurate titlings, since that's a literal translation of the names in Japanese.
