This is a very odd scene in movie 12, if you've seen it you know what Iam talking about but, does anyone know if this was added into the movie later?
I ask because this whole scene looks totally different from the rest of the movie. What you'll notice first off is that the outlines are much much darker then any other scene in this movie, what you might not notice though is that the background looks nothing like a Dragonball background it actually looks like somthing from the Super Mario Bros Super Show, Iam not saying its bad Iam just saying thats what it looks like, Each building is outlined in white and is just one color. Even the clouds are steriotypical clouds.
So I was thinking either it was a last minute decision to just throw this in or this is just the way they wanted this secne to look. This almost looks like the way they portay day dream sequences like in movie 10 where Goten and Trunks are thinking about what they'd wish for if they collected the 7 Dragonballs (Goten ontop of a giant cake, Trunks in a pirate ship?)
Here are some little pictures to help illistrate what Iam talking about.

I believe that the situation at hand was a little too "sensitive" to be viewed as a serious battle scene. I could definitely see people complaining about how delicate the situation of having an evil "real life" person that caused the deaths of millions fighting some little martial artists. The animation just furthers the idea that it is a big joke.

It's how they handled purely comic battle-scenes in movie 12. I believe it was the same when Satan fought some zombies.

Yeah, watching the battle myself, I found it just hilarious. "Goten, let's go Super Saiyan and really freak out this guy."

Heh, I liked the animation style. Goten and Trunks kinda had a cel-shaded look when they went Super Saiyan. I don't really know about how the scene with ....you know... is gonna be handled, but probably left alone.

How could anyone forget that?

I have been wanting to see Movie 12 (and 13) for what seems like forever now. I keep telling myself, just until next month when it's released on DVD (by both FUNi and Toei, but the Movie Box is way out of my financial league, so I'm referring to the FUNi disc). Is Hitler *really* a character in this film? Interesting...
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Ya,
he's in there alright, though not for long. It's a hilarious scene though.

Technically no he's not. He's officially called "The German Dictator." Blatant pun on Hitler, but not actually him.

Even if he's not actually called Hitler, we know it's theoretically him. He's got the similar uniform, the moustache, the hair, and yells while waving his hand around. It's pretty clear what they're implying.

Sounds like a typical nazi to me (remember: the "Hitler moustache" was a popular mustache until it became affiliated with Hitler, as was the haircut). That's like saying Suupaman *is* Superman because he's such a blatant pun. But he's not: he's a parody of Superman, just like The German Dictator is a parody of Hitler.

Suupaman doesn't have the same powers as Superman. No heat vision, no superstrength, transforms instead of doing it all the time, and "flies" by laying down on a skateboard and rolling down the street. Parody yes, but not a "rip." A rip of Superman would be Hyperion from Marvel Comics.
Dictator, meanwhile, DOES have the "powers" of Hitler, the power to command giant armies who will kill in his name. Combine that with the mustache and the uniform and I think it's safe to say he's both a parody and a complete rip.

"Blonde hair, blue eyes I should recruiting them not fighting them"
But super sayains dont have blue eyes,

Nor do they have blond hair. Their hair is gold. o_O Although Toei has constantly shaded it as a blondish yellow from time to time. :\

Wow, this is getting pretty off topic.
Back on track, I remember back in the Buu Saga when Fat Buu was terrorizing yet another city. I forget when it actually happens, but ti's after he kills Bobbidi. The entire scene is outlined without any curves. Instead, there's a thick line surrounding each character that "simplifies" the curves into a series of straight lines (I'd show a picture here, but I can't find one).
At first, I thought that it was a dream sequence, but they later refer to Buu's destruction of that city, so I guess they were trying for the comical look in that scene, too. Perhaps they same animators/artists were used for that episode and movie 12? Hmm...
