Raditz never had names for his attacks, he was just a low level saiyan.

As previously stated, Radditz never had names for his attacks... however, in the rereleased version of the episode, FUNimation calls the attack "Double Sunday." Whether or not it's Double Sunday, well... That's up to you, but keep in mind that Radditz was only given named attacks for the Budokai video game series.

Well, actually, he says this to the farmer I believe. (Or maybe I'm mistaken and he only said it to Goku and Piccolo.) I don't have any idea why they did this, other than to promote Radditz's only attack having a name, making him somehow important. Or, possibly, just to promote the Budokai series.

While FUNi does have a tendancy to insert dialogue in moments of silence, I don't think Raditz said "I call this one 'Double Sunday'" before flicking the bullet back at the farmer...though for some reason, when I think of that, I laugh. A lot.veshira wrote:Well, actually, he says this to the farmer I believe.

"Keep your eye on the birdy" sounds much more menacing; it fits in with the character (I think Raditz said it to Piccolo). I first heard "Double Sunday" in Budokai 1 (as mentioned earlier in the thread), and I was like,"what?" I'm pretty sure that the dialogue in Budokai 1 stuck to the original Japanese script, shown by the fact that I had no idea what the terms were (I watched Toonami's version). Or maybe, they just wanted a name for the attack (they couldn't call the capsule "Keep Your Eye On The Birdie Blast", could they?) Then, FUNimation could've just copied it from there...SylentEcho wrote:You mean they changed, "keep your eye on the birdy" to "double sunday"?, why would they do something like that?, by the way I've only seen the first two episodes of ultimate uncut.
Something that struck me as FUNimation saying "Remember our video games, and buy more!" was Raditz's "I call this one keep your eye on the birdie!" being changed to "I call this one Double Sunday!" Neither is even remotely close to the original script, so it simply induced some eye-rolling in this viewer.
(For those unaware, "Double Sunday" is the name of an attack given to Raditz exclusively in the "Budokai" series of video games. It has no name or mention in the original Japanese script for this episode.)
Does that help?

I'd like to know why exactly Raditz' attack names in the Budokai series are named after measurements of time and days of the week. Not exactly fitting for the character....
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
I guess they were trying to follow the rule of "everything is a pun" although a lot of attack names weren't puns at all in the Manga/Anime. Go figure. The S wrote:I'd like to know why exactly Raditz' attack names in the Budokai series are named after measurements of time and days of the week. Not exactly fitting for the character....
Has anyone considered the technique might have been termed Double Sundae, rather than a day of the week? Given that Saiya-jin are obsessed with food, also their names are food-related; wouldn't that be a better technique for Raditz? Just an odd thought, but nevertheless it seems quite appropriate to me.
Also Magnum Sundae is supposed to be another one of Gotenks' techniques, even if only in the dub.

I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.
Doesn't make sense that way though, because he has the other attack called Saturday Crush.Sho™ wrote:Has anyone considered the technique might have been termed Double Sundae, rather than a day of the week? Here's the truly amusing thing with the name used in the re-dub. It's wrong. Yes, that's right, it's wrong. The attack being used by Raditz against Piccolo is his 'pink energy in hand' move. The one the Budokai Games titled "Saturday Crush". "Double Sunday" is the golden move that looks like Chibi Trunks "Double Buster".
