Weirdest lies people have told you about the series?

I remember playing the japanese Final Bout back in 1998, not knowing who anyone else was besides Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Freeza.

I actually thought Teen Gohan was Super Yamcha.

A friend of mine always said he had seen future episodes from the French version of DBZ (actually, he only saw the Buu Saga) and, at that time we were watching the Saiya-jin Saga. After Piccolo was killed, we were wondering how they would ressurect the others and he told me they would go to Heaven to speak with Saichourou (we had the French opening which showed clips from the Saiya-jin and Freeza Saga so, we saw Gohan next to Saichourou and him giving Gohan his power up, although not knowing who that was).

XD I remember experiences like that! Comin' to france (from England) and finding such characters as... Goten. *gasp of shock* and big books talking about WAY WAY in the future. (France dubbed DBZ immediately, badly, etc.... though it is kinda' pleasant hearing Vegeta yell 'KUSSOOOOO')

I also thought Trunks was an evil Saiya-jin woman after having seen an image of him in Saiyan armor with short hair.

*pats* there there, he's a pretty boy. I sure don't blame you--- (don't tell that to any Trunks fans though, ok? Fangurls have a tendency to form murders. (year, murders like crows XD))

That reminds me of what my nan said once. There I was, sittin' n' watching the Majin Battles. Goku v Vegeta. She walks in, looks at the screen, points to Vegeta and says 'Why is she fighting her boyfriend?' *evil laugh* Can you imagine what would have happeend if -she- wrote DBZ summaries?

Heard a lie yesterday; 'Vegeta is the main character of DragonballZ because-' bleh.

You can find some pretty good lies on wickepedia too. =D (USSJ for instance, is mentioned on Vegeta's bio as being faster than SSJ) I'd fix that stuff, but I'd fix everything I read on that site.

You DO realize the creator of Temple of Trunks is this site creator's girlfriend, right?

Oh, and I was told that Majin Buu blew up Namek.

There was a movie with a new version of Majin Buu called Majin Blue.

Tien was Kuririn's father.

Future Trunks came back in GT to help fight Brolly. I believed it when I saw a picture of Movie 8 of him with the others fighting you-know-who.

The only one I can remember clearly is that Tenshinhan was Kuririn's father. The guy who told me that remained adamant, and as far as I know still thinks so today.

I mean, I can see where one might get such an idea. If it were your first few times watching, and you saw a big bald guy and a much smaller bald guy, it wouldn't be insane to assume that they're father and son.

I also seem to remember some guy insisting that Buu was "Android 25", and that there were upwards of thirty androids. He seem convinced that it was just androids, androids, androids up until the series ended.

That's hilarious.

But actually, I HAVE thought that the older Gohan, especially the one in Trunks' TV Special, looked like Yamcha.

Hmm, weirdest lies? Let's see...

I was once told that Karin gets his head crushed by Freeza on Namek, that Broly was a lost Saiyan frozen beneath Earth hundreds of years before planet Vegeta blew up, and of course the Buu arc was the start of GT. Probably can't top some of the ones posted already, but hell, there ya' go. Oh, and some idiot once blurted out that Freeza was Vegeta's real Father.

When I first saw the Japanese poster picture of movie 12, I printed it out and kept it in my folder; I looked at it constantly during school, and asked a boy in my class about it. This was 2003 (or maybe 2002), and I was a little more than a dubbie knowledge wise, but had never actually seen the Buu Saga or the movie yet. So he told me Goku and Vegeta were doing the fusion dance, and who Gogeta was, but then he told me yellow/fat Janemba (or "Janempa" in the

dub) was Majin Buu, and he didn't know who slim/red Janemba was.

Oh yeah, in the 7th grade, I had just learned about GT, and SSJ4 Goku and Gogeta, and these kids were telling me something about a show called "Dragon Ball AF" or something. Hm...

Oh, and not really a "someone-lied-to-me" thing, but I remember when I first watched the Trunks Saga, [as a complete dubbie, mind you] I first thought [before I even knew his name, how old he was, or that he was from the future] that Trunks was Gohan from the future, because he could go Super Saiyan, and he might have dyed his hair purple and wore blue contacts to look cool.

After that, I also figured that maybe there was this colony of Saiyajin off somewhere in space that Trunks was from and he came to Earth for some reason. (Yay, go my 11-year old brain!

I can understand how this would've started because of the beginning of Movie 10.

Another one I heard once was that you see Vegeta as a SSj3 for a second as he's turning SSj4.

I've heard a lot of rumors back when I was in elementary school. I remember a few, not exactly all of them, but here goes. I remember asking a friend about the characters on a certain poster of his which featured Bardock on one side, and Goku on the other, and the background is split in half, in one half there are namekians and villains, and the other half are the characters from Earth, and King Kai, and several others. He told me that there was going to be this whole war that would go on between Earth and an alien planet, and that Goku's 'twin' brother would return to help save the world.

And I remember when I made a lie of my own, Haha! I had a few trading cards, and GT was unbeknownst to a lot of my friends. A certain card that featured Bebi, in his weird silvery/blue skin form, got me wondering if that was a saiyan. So i went ahead and told my cousin when we were into watching DBZ, that the character was Vegeta Super Saiyan six. Yes I plead guilty =P.

When me and my friends first saw Broly pictures on the net in 2001, one of them told me that Broly was a level after oozaru and that Broly was Goku.
Someoe also once told me that Cell turns into a giant zebra in the Cell saga back when we still used to play the old sega Buu-yuu-retsuden in 1997.

Only two lies really come to mind, both of which I think are completely nuts now and I don't remember how I ever believed them. But eh, that's what time does to you:

1) My first boyfriend told me that he stopped liking Gohan because he started to use guns in the later half of the series. Where he got that I have NO idea. Only people I ever remember using guns were the bad guys in the Red Ribbon Army.

2) In GT, someone told me that Goku swats Pan as a Super Saiyan Four. Pan got pretty annoying in GT (in my opinion) so I actually wouldn't have blamed him. Someone else told me something similiar except they said Goku swatted both Goten and Gohan when they were controlled by Bebi. Considering he was in child form at the time, I remember thinking...'uh, how would THAT work?'

Actually, there is a image somewhere where Gohan, Goten and Trunks are dressed up, driving in a car and Trunks and Goten are firing with guns. Gohan just drives, though.

The biggest lie someone told me was that the plot for GT revolved around someone wishing back everyone Freeza killed, and thus bringing back Planet Vegeta. The series would then go on without Goku, who, for some reason (and I don't know why I believed this) didn't want to fight anymore. It would involve Vegeta trying to take his Father's place as King and he would compete against none other than the Great Saiyaman! The great Saiya-jin hero ever! (I had not yet seen the Buu Saga, or knew that he was actually Gohan, though I had heard of and seen clips of Saiyaman doing his cheesy poses...)

God, the painful thing is... it made SO much sense at the time...!
