Insane? Yes.

Impossible? No.

I agree that it would be quite ridiculous for them to nearly double the number of base characters from the previous game, but it is doable. Dragonball has had enough henchmen, filler characters, and different age variations of characters over the years to definatly get it over 100, but I'm sure that the number includes transformations.

Oh, and something just crossed my mind. If the 100 characters INCLUDE transformations, then we must expect only 10-12 new fighters. Possibly 7-8 if they transform.

However, Spike people are known to work fast, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 100 characters do not include transformations.

What's wrong with Yajirobe, he has a sword, and his attacks in the game could be throwing food.

Heck, they'd really have to dig deep into the archives to get 100 characters who had active fighting parts. XD You could add those two monks who used to bully Kuririn before he left the monastery... oh and Arale, Nam would be a given, ditto for Lanfan, and that guy who was giving prize fights in the city when Goku came looking for Bulma. Yup yup, if you give me long enough I could give you 100 characters who are at least somewhat capable at martial arts.

Or they could add the likes of Neko Majin Z, Lord Onio and ANGRY Lunch.

The problem with Yadjirobe is that adding him as a gag character, means that a more deserving fighter will be passed over. And considering Yadjirobe became virtually useless shortly after being introduced in the series, we could all do without him.

He's a fat pig who doesn't deserve to sit next to Kuririn, Yamcha and Tien (and thank Toriyama he never did). He's selfish, stupid, and only used his sword for like, 2 episodes.

I agree. But I'm not debating whether or not they could have 100 characters, but on whether or not they have the TIME to include as many.

I'm not saying over 100 unique characters is impossible either. I mean, I highly doubt they would ACTUALLY dig up so many smaller, briefly shown characters to get to over 100. Not that I'd be against having those characters.

Heck, it took us this long just to finally get characters like Chaozu and the entire Ginyu Force.

They could almost reach 100 unique (not including transformations) characters by adding more movie villains (heck, adding villains from the first, third, and fifth movies alone would increase the character count by about 12) and Dragonball villains.

Thanks for sharing. I searched a bit for this myself, but came up with zippo.

Oh, by the way, I think I know why the backgrounds lack destructive objects. I think that the stages are going to be like those in DBZ Legends for the PSX and Saturn, that is, infinite. Thus, they aren't going to have the detail that the Tenkaichi 1 stages had. Instead, they're either going to have objects placed far far away (where the fighter will never be able to "reach"), or small objects like trees and rocks, generated randomly in the stage, or... something.

(hah, just saw the "Doragon Ball Z" phrase from the site. Doragon.. heh.

Kewl! Slug, wears his mask on a pic. And Transform D mode is indeed verified through the trailer. So, I guess in-trans are in.
