Timeline/Ages?

I can't seem to find this, and I've spent several hours searching, so here goes. How old are Raditz and Nappa when Frieza runs into the Saiyans? I have part of a timeline I snatched from some DBZ website a long time ago saved on my harddrive, but it's just the part around when Vegeta is born, and those two knuckleheads aren't mentioned.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think their ages are ever mentioned in any way...I would guess Nappa would be in his 40's, Raditz in his 30's. I think that's as close as you can get.

Well, in the Bardock special, when Vegeta's a little kid (about 5 years old), Nappa's a full grown adult. In the Saiyan saga, the only difference is his hair; his armor doesn't even change, so I suppose Nappa's 40-50's years old.

Raditz, I have no idea. He's older than Goku, but I don't know by how many years. He seems to be in the same age group as Goku and Vegeta, though.

Freeza... I was always under the impression his race could age for a hundred or hundreds of years, possibly constantly growing? This is just a theory, though, because King Cold is HUGE, even if he's in his second form.

Honestly, the birthdates of those three may only be listed in fanworks, and you know what that can mean.

Yeah, places like that need a "fanon alert!" right in front of them, heh.

I just wondered if there were any dates supplied for these guys and I just wasn't looking hard enough. Thanks for the responses!

This is one of the many reasons why I think the Daizenshuu should be translated by Viz! I'm pretty sure that they have a timeline in one of the volumes.

I don't know if I would call nappa a "full adult" in the bardock special. I'd say early 20s. And I'm going to guess that Radditz is about 10 years older than Goku.

Of course with saiyans it's hard to tell because according to Vegeta:

"We saiyans keep our youthfulness so we can fight longer."

Hmmm, I was wondering about the Freeza thing - I also was under the impression he was hundreds of years old. Is there anything ever actually said that would suggest this? I can't think of anything.

Maybe when Kaio was so scared of Freeza - he's suppossed to be really old, so I may have assumed Freeza was old too. I dunno.

Well, if you remember Frieza did want to wish for immortality, so death has to scare him in some way.

And since we all know Frieza's additude very well, I'm sure the thought of being killed in battle never even crossed his mind, so death of old age had to have been something he considered.

Freeza killed almost an entire race of people because of a legend of theirs that suggest that a warrior that might just be stronger than him would one day appear.

I think he's pretty careful with ensuring his own survival. He doesn't seem like one to take chances with his own life. Even little ones.

Of course, sometimes he tends to take too much time toying with his opponents for his own enjoyment. IE, the fight with Goku. Funny how that worked out in relation to what I first started saying in this post.

I have that, the complete time-line translated, on my computer. The births of Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta are never mentioned. There's a lot of little unimportant things mentioned but some things you'd expect to see aren't.

But wherever I plucked part of this timeline from (I should have written down the site name, damnit ><) DOES mention when Vegeta is born. Here's the small portion of it I saved.

720-730 A.D. The Saiya-Jin and the Tsufuru-Jin engage in a war for control of the planet Plant.
The Tsufuru scientist Dr. Raichi is killed.
The Saiya-Jin win the war and wipe out the Tsufuru-Jin race.
The Saiya-Jin rename the planet Plant, the planet Vegeta.
They adapt Tsufuru technology such as the spacepods and the scouters.
The Saiya-Jin begin to travel in space and they meet aliens from other planets for the first time.

722 A.D. The Red Ribbon Army's General Blue is born.

730 A.D. Tao Pai Pai becomes an assassin.

731 A.D. The Saiya-Jin begin working for Freeza and start clearing planets of life ready for sale.
King Vegeta marries his queen.

733 A.D. Bulma, Yamcha, and Tenshinhan are born.

733 A.D. 8th May Earth's current king is crowned.

Approximately 735 A.D. Freeza starts to feel misgivings toward the Saiya-Jin.
It begins a period of controlled chaos.

736 A.D. Kuririn is born

737 A.D. A low class Saiya-Jin fighter is born to the middle class fighter Bardock.
His father rejects him as a failure. He is tested to have a power level of 2 and is therefore sent to a low risk planet: Earth so he can destroy it when he grows older. His name is Kakarot.
Planet Vegeta gains control of the planets Meat and Kanassa thanks to Bardock's team.
King Vegeta's revolt against Freeza ends in failure and the King is killed by Freeza.
Freeza destroys all the Saiya-Jin and the planet Vegeta.

I previously thought I'd lifted it from DaizEx a long time ago, but as I said, I really don't remember. Oh, and I don't care how old Frieza is, just Nappa and Raditz, heheheh. I'm doing a little research for my crappy writi--err, fanfiction so I was hoping for at least a good guess as to how old they were so the fanbois/grrrls don't eat me alive. XD

EDIT:: By the way, feel free to slap me around if any of what I have is completely wrong and I need to just delete it..

That looks like the same translation I have. You may have gotten it here, from a previous thread. I posted the entire thing once. Here's the thread. Just do not post there, it is ooooold.

So now I guess my question is, if we DON'T have any official numbers for Raditz or Nappa, what would be a good guess? I'm inclined to go with what Jrinu suggested, but if anybody has any better estimates then feel free to share.

As for age guesses... I'd put Raditz at anywhere from 25 to 30 when he arrived on Earth and Nappa would have been somewhere in his 40's or 50's maybe.

Well, considering all things said in this topic thus far, my thought was "ask Toriyama when you meet him," but even if you ever did get the opportunity, he'd probably be like, "Oh, I don't know."

My personal opinion on Nappa's age has been stated already, as well as Freeza's; for Radditz, I'd say he's about Vegeta's age?

Shoot, I forget now entirely, but I remember reading somewhere once that Nappa was 52 years old when he arrived on earth with Vegeta to battle the Z Warriors. I always based everything prior to that for him by counting back the years. For the life of me, I cannot remember where I read that, but it is what I've held to for his age for quite some many years. Seems accurate, but I cannot back it up because I just don't remember where I read that information at...

Well, maybe you read it from a tv guide? I remember during the Saiyan Saga, my tv guide had profiles on Goku and Vegeta, even stating their ages were 24 and 29 respectfully. There were also profiles on AOL a long, long time ago, at the same time. It was about 2000 I'd guess, or 2001; whenever it was most popular and CN was rerunning all the seasons.

I don't think it was TV guide. I remember Vegeta being listed as being 27 years old in the same thing I read though. That is accurate too, so who knows?
