Ah-ha! You are right. All I knew was that somewhere in the mess of my room, there was and still remains my Garlic Junior movie with "Pioneer" somewhere on the box.

Aw. :( It's okay. I didn't know that Dabura's name was a pun off "Abrakadabra," however you want to break that up.

I remembered something else! Oh joy! :D

I didn't realize how green Bulma's hair looked until Marron came along. (Or is it spelled "Maron?")

I didn't realize Bulma was an adult, let alone older than Goku in Dragonball Z until the Trunks Saga, because she sounded like a whiny teenager throughout the Freeza Saga; she was constantly complaining to her father over the phone, as well as Krillin and everybody else.

I didn't realize Krillin was a midget at first. I thought he was a kid until at some point he told Gohan he grew up with Goku.

It's been FUNimation's dub from the start. They wrote the scripts, casted the voices and what have you.
It may have been FUNi's dub, but it was Saban (IIRC) that was responsible for the cuts and edits. Since the show was going to air in syndication and all, Saban wanted to make sure it was 'kid friendly'.

Because apparantly thought balloons of apple trees aren't kid friendly.

-Somewhere inside a FUNi office-

"So, Mr. Jenkins, sir, why do we have to get rid of the apple tree?"

"Don't question me Smith! Think of the poor children."

"But, sir, it's just a tree..."

"Not another word Smith! Do it, now!"

-Smith leaves, closes door.-

*Jenkins Thinking* "I told you, you trees would pay for killing my father. I shall have my revenge!"

*yelling* "I hate you treeeeeeeeeeeeees!"

-door opens-

"Did you say something sir?"

"Damnit, Smith, get rid of that tree!"

...Anyway, I just noticed that when Bulma and Goku were in that one village way in the beginning of Dragonball when they needed to get rid of that "Terrible Oolong", Bulma shows the old man the four star ball when Goku has it in his pocket. It can't be the five star ball, it has a different design.

I believe it is page 84 in vol. 1.

Hey, I actually found something that I didn't notice before (or maybe I did, but I wasn't on the forums yet): GT has a helluva lot of references to DB/Z. Here's some I came up with off the top of my head:

1) GT's first outro has Goku, Pan, and Trunks going around looking for the dragonballs. On one planet, there's quite a number of dinosaurs. One dinosaur in particular is being ridden on by the gang, while carrying a basket of apples on his neck. This pic in particular looks a lot like the cover for tankoubon 38 (volume 22).

2) When chibi Goku kills Super 17, he hurls his entire body through 17's, looking a lot like when Goku kills King Piccolo in the original DragonBall. EDIT: Aaand both fights were done partly to avenge Kuririn's death.

3) In general, a majority of the intros/outros focus on still-images of landscapes, dinosaurs and aircrafts-- things that Toriyama is well known to be drawing (at least in my opinion, I could just be over analyzing). Maybe Toriyama himself had some part in drawing some of those pictures?

I'll post up comparison pictures later .

EDIT:
DragonBall- King Piccolo Saga VS. DragonBall GT- Super 17 Arc:

DragonBall- Volume 38 tankoubon VS. DragonBall GT- outro (Hitori ja Nai):

DragonBall GT Toriyama-esque aircrafts:

That's because most of the images (especially in Blue Velvet) are plays off of Dragonball manga covers and other images. :P

I like it when Chichi's driving and Goku and Gohan are hanging on for their lives.

Oh, and on Vegeta looking like Tetsuo: YES! I'm not the only one who's noticed! :D

DaemonCorps, Your last picture also has another interesting point. That is the exact plane that Yamcha, Roshi, Bulma, Krillin and Launch flew in when they took off to help Goku fight the Red Ribbon Army at thier headquarters. Remember the whole anime scene with the heat seeking missile and Yamcha kept trying to dodge it as he flew the plane? I recognized it the first time I saw that ending scene in GT with Goku and Vegeta leaning on it. It looks like it is nothing but a rusted garden decoration by the time of GT.

Other things that I picked up on that are similar among the dragonball sagas. Goku shows up late to many consecutive fights and defeats big nasty opponents with little or no effort that were giving everyone else trouble.

Piccolo, Piano and Drum - Tenshinhan is getting his rear handed to him, and Son shows up and smashes Drum's brains in with a single blow.

Vegeta and Nappa - Nappa and Saibamen destroy most of the Z team and Goku shows up and after being forced to use Kaioken, he defeats Nappa with a single blow.

Ginyu Force - Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin are beaten and on the verge of death, Goku shows up late once again and knocks Recoome out with a single elbow slam to the gut.

One other thing common between these three scenarios too. When Goku arrives at all three, he checks on his comrades' conditions, delivers the crushing blow, then shows the stronger remaining opponents what I call "Son Goku's Battle Gaze". For such a happy go lucky guy, whenever you see Goku look over his shoulder, then turn and give someone the Battle Gaze, you know he's about to whip up on someone hard, and maybe even kill them as he does in a few instances.

The most memorable was when Son had his back turned to Freeza after Freeza had killed Krillin. He was so mad, thoughts of there being no way to ever bring Krillin back with the dragonballs must have filled his mind. He transforms, then looks over his shoulder and turns to give Freeza the "Battle Gaze".

... that's just another reason why I love GT's second ending (and the GT music in general)! It has so many references to the past series, showing how much the characters have grown from how they were when they were first introduced, by showing how aged one of their capsules is.

And another thing that I noticed was that whenever you thought that the series would end in the manga, Toriyama drew a little picture of Roshi and have him say something like, "No, it's not the end, yet!"

The two times that this was in was in the manga were when Goku flew away from the Tournament arena with Chi-chi on Kintoun (DB vol. 16), and on the title page of the first chapter of the Great Saiyaman arc (DBZ vol. 20). I guess Toriyama likes to think of Roshi as being the narrator of the series...

I recently bought the Tienshinhan box set, and have been watching an episode each night (it's a great way to watch it, by the way), and while watching DB episode 86, I noticed something...

King Chappa's nipples can't seem to decide if they're black or pink! :P

(Actually, that's more of a goof than a detail...)
