Possibility of a Saiya-jin/Tsufuru-jin hybrid?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

The Tuffles must've had BIIIIG heads, 'cause those scouters fit the Saiyans pretty well. :?

Vegeta's body suit and armor also fit him rather nicely after he transformed. :P

Think about the size of the armour before Vegeta puts it on during the Namek saga. The smallest it can go is about his body size.

When the Saiyans stole the Tuffle's technology, I don't think they were intelligent enough to modify it themselves (to fit their size or whatever). Unless... Bardock was a great scientist! :P All of this means that the Tuffles must have been quite big (they look normal-sized in "The World Of Dragonball Z"). So, they could have breeded with the Saiyans! I don't know how proving that will get me anywhere, though. The Tuffles didn't exist in the manga... :x

I guess those Saiyans dyed their hair after all...

The armor was designed to stretch with the Saiyajins when they transformed. Vegeta even says so when Kuririn brings it up on Freeza's ship.

B-kun: "What?"

Sure, sure. But that doesn't explain those fins! I mean, think about it! He had those big shoulder things sticking out and, guess what? They grew too! There's no reason they should have, they just did!

Armor isn't Tuffle technology anyway. I mean, why the hell whould they even NEED something that can get that big? Besides, they never wore it in the flash backs either. It was either a Saiya-jin development or something from the Cold Empire.

Come to think of it, you're correct! The armour was exclusively made for the Saiyans (probably by Frieza's/ King Cold's scientists). Watching through the episodes when Frieza returns, I can now see they were rather smart. Well, kinda (Frieza looked like a goof)... And as for the scouters, I suppose they simply modified by them. :P So I guess it stands that they were small (although I haven't actually seen a size comparison :? ).

Maybe the sayians just shrunk down over time, so that their bodies were more suitable for fighting. Think about it. Goku isn't exactly a giant, and neither is vegeta, or any of the saiyans after nappa or raditz.

Well, the Tuffles were kind of, you know, shooting up into the air when they were fighting the Saiya-jins. And this was prior to them going Oozaru.

supersaiyanguru, please re-read the forum rules. I never see you capitalize correctly, and I'm finding it extremely irritating.

I'd also just like to say how shocked I am at how many people actually use the phrase "Tuffles". I may enact a new word filter :P.

Okay, now I'm going to sound like a moron and ask why they're called 'Tuffles' and 'Tsufuru-jin'.

Be gentle.

Says the person still using the word "Bebi"? :P

Besides, Tuffle is just the way I learned to say/spell it, all the way back in 199x something when King Kai was making up stories. It's just easier to remember than Tsufurubaloo, or whatever it is.

Names mostly, you've got to watch that - it's not just important, it's absolutely necessary as a human being to be able to wield your mother tongue with proficiency.

Are you asking about the pun?

"Tsufuru" (ツフル) is a syllable anagram of "furûtsu" (フルーツ; English word "fruit"), just like the way "Saiya" (サイヤ) is a syllable anagram of "yasai" (ヤサイ; Japanese word for "vegetable").

Vegetable people versus Fruits people is the whole joke of the planet.

As for "Tuffle"... it's just the name-change FUNimation came up with during the original 1996 dub, and it just kinda set the precedent. I can't tell if they were trying to go for a pun on "truffles" or just picked the funniest word they could somewhat/maybe pull out of the Japanese original by saying it in weird ways.

I need help to clear some things up;

Tsufuru-jin / Japanese name, no mention of the Tsufuru-jin in the original manga?

Tuffles/ From english dub, again no mention in original manga?

Dr Myu/ Does he have anything do do with the Tsufuru-jin?

Bebi/ Where did he come from, and where had he been untill GT (years later)

Was there another name mentioned in the dub for Tuffles, I can not quite remember perhaps Suphiles or something along them lines, I'm not sure it could be from Z or GT.

The Tsufuru-jin are complete filler, and are never mentioned in the manga to begin with. Any scenes with them are exclusive to the anime. Toriyama had a little bit to do with their designs and filler-implementation, but yeah... no manga for them.

And yes, Dr. Myu & Bebi have a bit to do with the Tsufuru-jin, but I'll let someone who wasn't half-asleep throughout the entire arc describe it a little better. In a nutshell... revenge on the Saiya-jin, blah blah blah.

I personally prefer the term "Tsufurians", rather than "Tsufuru-jin". Since "jin" stands for "person/object of certain origin" in Japanese, and Steve Simmons also called them that in his translations on DVDs.

Bebi is a parasitic being that has the genes of the Tuffle King in him. He was created as an ultimate weapon against the Saiyans. He created Dr.Myuu so he could create the Machine Mutant technology to aid in his ressurection. As for where he was until Goku found him , he was on planet M2 incubating in his tube. :)
It is impossible to improve upon perfection.
