Also note that there's a star on NZ. Even though I already own the movie, that's great news! I thought the film was meant to come out here last year due to that listing on the NZ Event Cinemas website. Turns out that was just a carry-over from the Australian one. I have to wonder if it's being brought over for a film festival or as part of Reel Anime. I'm assuming it's going to be for the latter.

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? Has there been any word on how successful the movies TV ratings were? Like how many watched it?

It appears to be the number of accesses to a website by hour, broken down into PC and mobile.TheRed259 wrote:I found this posted on a Facebook page (Dragon Ball Dream).

So how does this relate to Battle of Gods?SaiyaJedi wrote:It appears to be the number of accesses to a website by hour, broken down into PC and mobile.TheRed259 wrote:I found this posted on a Facebook page (Dragon Ball Dream).

Did the page misinterpret this as a graph for TV ratings from the day BOG aired, or does this have something to do with a Dragon Ball-related website? I don't see 'Kami to Kami' being mentioned anywhere on there.
What context was this image being used in?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods
According to Nikkan Sports, it's 13.1%, which is even higher than One Piece Film Z (12.6%). Over 16 million people watched it.Bullza wrote:Has there been any word on how successful the movies TV ratings were? Like how many watched it?

Looks like Mexico will see the release of BoG on DVD/Blu-ray sometime in May. On Screen (company distributing the DVD/Blu-ray) is asking fans what kind of extras they want. Bet the fans all want those extra scenes

Just had a thought, while thinking about the hopefully soon-to-come US release...have any of the other foreign (as in, non-Japanese) releases of the film kept the JSAT on there as a bonus? And if so, has it been kept sub only, or has it been dubbed in the language of that release?

Very cool! Are you located in Mexico? I guess I could ask my relatives but would you happen to know a good online website where the Mexican BD release of Battle of Gods would be available to order from? Beyond just Ebay I mean, I guess.trunkschan90 wrote:Looks like Mexico will see the release of BoG on DVD/Blu-ray sometime in May. Very nice to see! I'm glad that the movie was able to do so well with viewers over there. It was a smart decision to air that directors cut, and I can only think that the premiere of the Buu arc will benefit greatly because of it.kei17 wrote:According to Nikkan Sports, it's 13.1%, which is even higher than One Piece Film Z (12.6%). Those really are good ratings. One Piece Episode of Merry a few months ago got a 11.2 to compare.
Is there a sub of the extended version yet?

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Granted, I'm not surprised either though. I've already been expecting one of three things when Kai's Boo arc ends, in the form of an announcement that'll come out of it. 1) Another movie will be announced, 2) Toriko will be announced to be coming back, and/or 3) a Dragon Ball Heroes anime to be made or something.
