I Need Your Help VegettoEX!!!!

Post by superstar » Tue Sep 12, 2006 10:01 pm

VegettoEX, you are a guy well informed and eqipped concerning Dragonball. I believe you are the only one who can help me. I have translated Toriyama's Daizenshuu interviews two, four, five and six they do not have the info that I am looking for! I have not yet read or translated Interviews one and three nor do I have them. I am asking you if you can help me find any information in the Dragonball Daizenshuu's or Dragonball Anime guide books concerning the Speed of the Dragonball world?

Please this information is important because people in other threads bash DBZ speed saying how slow it is and how Toriyama sucks including his manga. I mean, it is very harsh criticism.

Please if any of the moderators or forum members have any time at all can you help me out by finding this information concering the speed of the Dragonball world either in the daizenshuu's or Anime guide books?

Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to go looking through the entire thread for mention of any official references (Daizenshuu, Toriyama-sensei-, etc) . . . but if it helps, I do remember that the topic of speed in the Dragon World was extensively debated here.

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Well Thankyou I have read that thread concerning people's opinion's about the Speed of the Dragonball world.

I really need an official source to end madness like that thread. That is not the only thread that is just a mess.

Please can anyone help me is it stated anywhere Officially concerning the Dragonball World's speed?

Woah, so poeple are talking on other (most likely non-educated) forums saying that the fighters in DBZ are slow?

Personally, I don't really give a rat's bum about what non-fans think, but to try and shut them up, I'd say that current manga is influenced a lot by Toriyama's works. Also, DBZ isn't really rocket science, so they don't really go that deep in explaining stuff like how they make energy blasts, speed, etc, but keep in mind that the manga started off as a gag-manga.

Hope that helps.

Yeah I can post links to the Forums where their are threads going over 50 plus pages of flaiming on DBZ speed and powers! Saying that everyone can beat them especially Superman and various others. It is bad and harsh criticism.

I just need something official from the Daizenshuu's or the Anime Guide books concerning info on their speed and stength. I just have a feeling that it is listed somewhere in those books!!!!

Every time superstar makes a new thread or post about the speed of DragonBall Z, I die a little inside. The information you are looking for is not in an interview or a Daizenshuu, because it doesn't exist, as has been explained to you before...many times.

I die a little inside as well when a Dragonball fan of little faith makes comments like these. :(

Hey, it never hurts to ask and try!

Who knows it might come up someone may find something!

I know, we have had at least 3 threads on this.

We can never know for sure. So stop making threads about this. I have a feeling this is going to go nowhere.

Seriously, who the fuck cares.

I know, at least he's not that 'Poe' fellow.

Anyway, 'Star, listen closely:

The characters in Dragonball Z move very quickly. We have no frame of reference to decide how quickly. Specificly, there's no information to suggest they actually move as fast as, or faster than, light itself.

The are no interviews with Toriyama in which he talks about the speed of characters. Stop looking, it's not there.

Superman can beat Goku. End discussion.

For all that is holy, type like you speak. This means punctuation and proper word-choice.

Why do you bother debating with this people anyway? It's a waste of your time because, even if you had such desired information, it wouldn't lead anywhere. They'd just try to discredit you or one up you another, more clever way.

Just...get over it.

It's got to be somewhere!

All I need VegettoEX or anyone who has the Daizenshuu's to do is go look in Daizenshuu 2 at the battle scenes and see if any info concerning speed is being stateed in the "In Depth Battle scenes." Daizenshuu book 2. Radditz, and especially Freeeza and Goku's Super Speed five minute fight.

Holy crap, man. Just get over it.. really. Your incessant ranting about lightspeed got old three threads ago. Nobody wants to help you anymore now than they did when you first brought this ridiculous topic up. Who cares what other people think about the series? Even if, by some strange chance, you found the info, pointless debates like this would just keep happening. To me, this still sounds like some dumb argument two kids would have before one came online trying to prove something.

If it's not out there, it's not out there. Get a hint.

As everyone else has said, I don't believe there's any kind of official source that actually makes a statement about how fast the Z Senshi move, even in the Daizenshû. However, there is one available piece of information to show how fast they can move... Snake Way.

We're given a measurement for how long it is, and an approximate time of how long it takes Goku to go across it (and back across it) before and after his training with Kaiô-sama. One of my very old Shonen Jumps mentions this in one of the articles about the different moves in DBZ. The Shonen Jump article approximates that, since it took Goku six months on his first run to cross the 1,000,000 kilometer Snake Way, he travelled at a speed of about 144 mph, and since it took two days on the second trip, he travelled at about 12,945 mph, which is about mach 17. So, there you go. Keep in mind, this isn't completely accurate, as, if you count the anime, Goku did have multiple delays on the first trip, and also, he flew for the entirety of the second trip, bypassing many of the curves in Snake Way and shortening the overall distance. On his second trip, his speed was probably a lot slower than this estimate because of this.

As for as I know, that's pretty much the only point you can calculate their speed, and I don't believe there are any other official sources that give any number for their speed. Who knows how fast they are later in the series.

Dude... shut up. Myself and no-one else will answer your question, no matter how many times you ask it... twice, three times, a hundred times, a billion times...

It doesn't matter. Stop. You NEED to take the hint. This information doesn't exist. One more instance where you annoy myself and dozens of other forum members, and you're going to find your sorry ass out on the street.
