Episode #0043! VegettoEX, Meri, Julian, and Jeff talk about "Jump Ultimate Stars" news and Toriyama's involvement in the Kochikame 30th anniversary with a new crossover manga chapter! We also discuss the amazing video pieces recently placed online by Peking Duck! Releases for September, some e-mails, and our "Super DragonBall Z" contest round out the episode! Referenced sites: Whee! Go ahead and grab it. Big thanks to godofchaos for hosting the monumental *forty-three* episodes, now.

Peking Duck is the star of the moment, this here week! We had a ton of fun checking out all the videos we've actually never seen before, and it's genuinely made me want to dig through all the old fansubs and capture some commercials...

Don't forget about the "Super DragonBall Z" (PS2) Contest!

Another great podcast! Thanks for filling us in on what's happening in that crossover manga, I was wondering what was happening past the first two pages.

Wow, you released this podcast pretty early, eh? Not that I'm complaining! :D

Are you seriously going to make a new Doomrider? That would be so frickin awesome!

While i already knew about Jump Ultimate stars, pekindbz's videos on Youtube and and the gag manga Akira Toriyama did with the artist of "Kochikame" it was nice to hear you taliking about it. Nice top 5 and ABC. I have not yet entered the contest but I'm thinking about sending in an entry today.

The ending was so hilarious! You should end more podcast's with Julian singing! :D

"Holy crap."

"The best part of GT was when it ended."

"Oh it's been done... we'll have some doujini scans."
Am I the only one who noticed that Julian didn't "oh my" at all aboutthe slash? Interesting... :P

"I've paid my dues, oh have I paid my dues."
Down by the dumpter near the school? Hoohoho!

-edit-
What the holy flying crap is Julian singing at the end?! I demand more information about Idol-Julian.

Those Japanese commercials on Pekin Ducks website brought back so many memories of watching DragonBall fan subs in my Grandmothers house. I used to have these stupid little commercial songs stuck in my head. I also remeber the scary looking Ronald Mcdonald. I havent gone through all the videos yet so maybe he'll pop up. I havent even listen to the podcast yet.

Sorry, these are kind of random. Um, yeah.

Kouhei Kadono's Boogiepop is a light novel. (Yay! Light novel!)

Yay Doomrider! XD XD XD I get the references!

Jump Super Stars is catching up on Pokemon. :3

...

Wha, I love the end of the episode! XD

I must email an audio mail. Must. Emai. Audio. E~. Mai~l...

[edit] Wah! I need audio advice: I recorded my question, I can't save it as a MP3. And when I save it as a WAV file, it's huge. What do I do?

Also when I recorded, it sounds really fuzzy. I turned the air off, and then spoke farther away from the mic, but it's still fuzzy. Is my microphone just crappy or something? :?

Well, there's the whole thing about the time zones as well as various bedtimes or lack of one :D.

So, is Jeff now part of the podcast crew for keeps, or was it just some one time thing?

As for the podcast itself, this one was kinda average. Though I did enjoy the little discussion on Toriyama's latest work. It seemed like Mike wanted to just reference the topic and go on to the next bit of news, but Julian just seemed so anxious to explain the entire story of what was going on in the manga . Well, at least I've got a better understanding of the story. I thought Freeza's henchman thought the police officer was able to wish for immortality with the dragonballs or something...

I had to pause the ep a few times to watch some of the videos you guys were talking about, but whatever. I found it pretty interesting that Goku and Buu were in that one Dr. Slump, but was disappointed that there weren't any close-ups of the DBZ guys-- you could barely see their faces! And once again, iTunes can't get this episode, but my Quicktime actually worked this time so yay!

EDIT: Apparently, Julian isn't in on the whole 'Chahoonka-Woonkas' thing?

We record Friday nights, and we've been spending Friday nights hanging out with Jeff and working on our own other projects. So we've thrown a mic at him :).

Our web host is having severe issues at the moment (the site's been down since last night). As such, iTunes and other podcatchers can't see the RSS feed, and therefore can't update your subscription.

Once again, DBGT gets knocked down. It seems like you go out of your way to bash it. I REALLY don't think it's that bad at all. It may not live up to other parts of the series, but it's good on its own merits. At the very least, I felt the finale of GT was better than the ending of the comic.

I don't like the series. I have a podcast. I say things on the podcast :).

As you note, and I've gone off on this time and time again both on the site and podcast, the ending to DBGT makes me cry like a fucking baby, and I think it was absolutely phenomenally done.

Again, sorry if certain questions were answered before like when Meri said she had mentioned that Hyper Dimension was her favorite old school game. I listen to these podcasts in the most random order.. so..

Haha, I enjoyed the Wegmans references of all things since that's where I've worked for the past 4 1/2 years. I'm actually the one who stocks those Japanese items that Julian was talking about.

Great podcast as always. Keep it up!

Great podcast.

Although, I was kind of disappointed the second/third-to-last commercial in those videos weren't mentioned. The one promoting Legacy of Goku II. The Kamehameha coming from the kid's ass was gold.

By the way, which Wegmans in New Jersey did Julian go to?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you guys forget to include the releases? Mike said something like you normally end the show after the releases, but you went on to the contest and ended the show afterwards.

EDIT: Oh wow, I'm stupid. It is there (slaps forehead). I dunno why I missed it ...

If you all were talking about zelda: twilight princess in being pushed to next year, well actually its not. The wii version is launch and gamecube version comes out in december. Though if you were talking about the ds one, i have no clue when its released.

I think they were talking about Zelda: Phantom Hourglass because they were talking about DS. But, Zelda games in general are usually pushed back. Zelda DS is supposedly coming out Q2 2007. I'll try to link up when I get a chance.

Yeah, we were talking about Phantom Hourglass for the DS. It's been pushed back to early 2007. I'm aware that Twilight Princess is a Wii launch title, and the Gamecube version has been pushed to December 2006.

But this is not a Zelda podcast or thread :).
