Correct (I just watched the 1995 dub, 5min ago). I don't mind these openings at all (well except for that last one). They are certainly better then the "Rock the Dragon" and the GT Rap.Super Sonic wrote:The first is from the 1995 dub that was done with the Ocean Group voices. The second is from the dvds and videos of the later dub. THe third is from Canada I believe.

Second Video is from FUNi's inhouse dub of DragonBall in 2000-2001(correct me if I'm wrong about the date as I don't live in the US

Third Video is the Canadian Blue Water DragonBall intro which was used in all of YTV's DragonBall Broadcasts. It was also shown in a few of the CNUK Broadcasts(as they also broadcasted the Blue Water DragonBall Dub) but it was due to CNUK letting it slip by a few times.
Now I'll introduce you to a forth DragonBall Intro.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpxoU3H1TqU
This is the CNUK DragonBall Intro used in their Blue Water broadcasts, the music track is a remix of the Canadian Blue Water Intro which in turn is a remix of the French Intro. But the UK Intro Video sequence is different from the Canadian and French video.

Rock the Dragon isn't that bad. I like the whole fighting with rock music thing.
*Reminds himself of the time when VegettoEX on one of his podcast episodes, was all like "DUN! DUN! DUN! DUN!! I'M PICCOLO!!!*....Hmm qiute frankly I feel that way about it as well....

Well, back a couple of months ago DragonBallToys had a thing up explaining what opening went with what in DragonBall, so I figured I'd treat you guys to the news article, since I was able to re-locate it.
-----------------------------
Although it may be known by some, this will be news to many Dragonball fans. There was actually a second introduction sequence to the Dragonball anime series that started with the Piccolo Daimao story arc. Much like Dragonball Z having two intros, Cha La Head Cha La and We Gotta Power, it seems the original Dragonball series did as well.
This introduction sequence not being included on our domestic DVD releases by Funimation is frustrating. However, it is understandable that Toei Animation is not always forthcoming when providing materials well over ten years old to Funimation. They may have forgotten it, or just lost track of it. We may never know for sure, but there is a way to at least catch a glimpse of this lost intro.
A website known as RetroJunk.com has this second intro viewable on thier site, as well as the Original Japanese intro, the Harmony Gold 1987 version, the Saban/Funimation/Trimark 1994 version, and the 2001 Funimation redub version that you will find on all the DVD releases. Check out the lost Dragonball intro sequence by clicking the link below:

Please forgive me for posting that because there is a link to a forum on that page. I do not know if you consider that advertising or not, but if you don't want it, feel free to remove the link.

You make it sound as if it was some big different intro, when in reality, it was the same "Mystical Adventure" theme song with some alternate animation sprinkled here and there, similar to that of the second GT opening, just a bit more elaborate. DB also had different ending sequences, but FUNi only got the second ending with the first opening for their masters for some Toei-nit-pickey reason. Now the different ending sequences, that's something worth bringing up.Namek'jin Ryu wrote:Although it may be known by some, this will be news to many Dragonball fans. While reading this I gagged a bit. No joke. I hate that song. Now to a post with a purpose: How long did the cha la intro in which the only fighters at the end were Goku, Chaozu, Tien, Yamcha, and Gohan last for. In the original airing of DBZ, did this run through the end of the Freeza Arc?Super Sonic wrote:I still like Rock the Dragon, but I don't like that one from Canada.

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Wasn't that only for the first movie? Or am I wrong? (Cause I'm assuming I am).How long did the cha la intro in which the only fighters at the end were Goku, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Gohan last for. In the original airing of DBZ, did this run through the end of the Freeza Arc?
If I remember, the intro was about the same length more or less.
The Audio may be identical, but the visuals are entirely different. And very cool in my opinion. I wish these were included on the DVDs with the episodes they correspond to. You say the ending sequence on the DVDs is the second ending? What is the first one like? Have a link to it being shown anywhere? I saw the last DB ending once, it had the teen versions of all the characters from the 23rd Budokai. Is this a special ending for the last episode, or was it shown throughout that story arc? Always wondered about that.

I'm pretty sure it was used during the entire arc since all the others had their accompanying endings. As for the first ending....uh, I can't remember. Was that the one where Bulma is dressed in a suit and all the guys are dressed as girls?
