What is the Tori-bot saying on the back of number 34? http://www.daizex.com/multimedia/images ... ban_34.jpg . Thanks in advance.

Seeing how this is a thread about questions for the kanziban, I figured that I would ask one. What are the major changes for these books? Aside from more chapters a volume, are the pages redrawn in color as well? Also, will there be a US release under ViZ..?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Not very likely.

I would absolutely love it if Viz published huge Dragonball volumes in the style of Marvel comics Essential series. It would be great to read Demon King Piccolo in one book.

Honestly, there's really no point. The only new material is the last chapter. I mean, the color pages are nice, sure, but its not worth printing the 30+ volumes.

Also, didn't they fix the mistake made in the tankobon and change the Cell Games to May 26th?

Yeah, and they corrected other stuff, like the "wellcome" sign.

Yeah, and they corrected other stuff, like the "wellcome" sign.
But the "WELL COME" is classic!

I wonder if anybody in Dragon Ball fandom acts like a Star Wars fanboy and maintains the mentality that all changes are for the worse.

Eh, I'm a little like that. I personally prefer the original formatting and I'm going to stick with that since that's how it was released back in it's heyday and because Toriyama's first covers are so classic. It's not that I don't like the new art, I love it, but that's just not how it was if you know what I mean. Though I admit, the colored pages were very tempting.

I really dislike that mentality much of the time. Like the release of the "untouched" Star Wars movies! The special edition just makes everything cleaner and better, yet so many whined until this. I don't get it. At all.

Anyways, the Kanzenban is awesome, and I would gladly collect them all if they were in English, but I wouldn't give up my tankoubon either. Both offer a slightly different experience which are equally amazing and to be enjoyed.

Though, I don't see Viz releasing the Kanzenban simply because it wouldn't be very economical, unless DragonBall sold a lot better than I'm guessing.

I asked Mike, Julian and Meri in the podcast about this and they where right. Nothing has been said by Viz about releasing the Kanzenban to North America. I personally love the new covers and the new ending, though a minor change, is better in my opinion then the original... except the part with Vegeta. I think Akira Toryiama snuck that in just to please the Veggie fan hordes out there...

P.S. I too am a fan of the "Special Edition" of Star Wars except for Han not shooting first and the "young" Anakin at the end of ROTJ. What can I say!? I admit it I'm a Star Wars geek too! And a Trekkie.... Sorry!

So... that handsome fella had a pretty good question. Can anybody answer it?

There's really not many changes at all. There are more chapters per volume, the original color pages are in place, and there's the slightly different ending which can be found in the image section on Daizex.com.
