I don't think a dollar an episode is a ripoff - though I'd say it's a bit on the expensive side. It's still better than 20 bucks for 3 episodes.

How the heck is a dollar an episode a rip-off? Just wondering what your thoughts are on that. Not trying to be rude, but thats very cheap.

Also not to be rude, but I'll have to side with BrollysKin here and add for the record that there hasn't been nor probably will there ever be a better price per episode. Ever.

Well . . . except maybe Ebay. Speaking of which, I wonder how Tanooki's Daizenshuu are doing? (*goes to see if he's been outbid*)

Dammit, I don't have a choice! The Daizenshuu are never going to be released in an English format, and I simply HAVE to have them!!

Oops. Looks like I too was outbid. Hmph! . . . well, let's do it again!

We can't even buy DBZ DVD's properly here in NI, although you can pick up various Saiyan Saga DVD's if you really hunt them out.

Therefore, a dollar (approximately 60p last time I checked) an episode is absolutely amazing from my viewpoint!

Huh...I never geussed Shenron lived in the centre of the Earth.... I thought he just, you know, disappeared from existance until "reawakened" by the seven dragonballs. Meh, the more you know! Oh and these DVD's are bilingual and uncut right? Wait a minute I can check myself...

P.S. I know this is COMPLETLEY off topic but are these will their be the "Ultimate Uncut Edition" DBZ DVD's for the whole series or just the Saiyan and Freeza saga's?

EDIT: It might not get released in North America because of licensing issues concerning the first 13 episodes belonging under Kidmark's license. :( What a lowblow. I also can't find out whether it's uncut and bilingual. :?

Check my 'recap' post o the last page. It's Funi's English cast, the original Japanese audio track too, and subtitles by Clyde Mandelin, who was recomended by Daimao himself.

I can't find anything about it being uncut or not. But it goes up to episode 83 (whch is the end of the Baba saga). The dub episode 82 is "The Rampage Of Inoshikacho" which I think corresponds with the original episode 82 "The Violent Monster Inoshikachō" "Abare Kaijū Inoshikachō" (あばれ怪獣イノシカチョウ).

So, I'm guessing it's uncut.

I don't see why it wouldn't be. If everything else syncs up with the American DB releases we've been getting for the past three years (subtitles n' such), then there's no reason to assume they'll change that now just because it's another country.

Besides, I don't think anything of the original Dragonball was ever released as an edited DVD, with the one exception of that Saga of Goku box set.

EDIT: Correction. There was also the Path to Power DVD. But nothing of the actual series was released edited with subtitles, I don't think.

I think it should be made clear that these are R4 (I think R4) PAL releases. As far as I know these will not play on an NTSC television, even with a region free (or hacked) DVD player. If somone could verify that, it would be appreciated.

Generally, any TV made after the mid ninties should be able to support PAL, NTSC, Secam and whatever else. It honestly depends on your hardware. Consult your manual or experiment with the various settings to see if yours does.

SORRY THIS IS FOR THE REGION 4 DRAGONBALL BOX SET. THIS WONT RELEASE IN AMERICA FOR A LONG TIME FROM NOW. I HAVE AN OFFICIAL FUNIMATION RELEASE SCHEDULE. IT WONT BE RELEASED IN AMERICA TILL AFTER FEB 6 2007. SO BASICALLY UNLESS YOU HAVE A REGION 4 OR REGION ALL DVD PLAYER, THIS THREAD IS POINTLESS.

Umm... yeah...

We have a gigantic international audience with this website & podcast... including tons of people in Australia...

You're on extremely thin ice. (And that's in addition to not knowing what the bloody Hell you're talking about, something I can't actually do anything about.) I'm going to ask you one more time to re-read the forum rules. Your typing is horrendous, and you're making absolutely pointless posts and new threads.

So is it true that Funimation will most likely not be getting the dragonbox footage? Or was SS4GOGETA#1 talking through his ass?

Assume the latter until someone from FUNimation makes a statement.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Think of it this way-

Until you read something on the front page of this site, AOD or maybe ANN, FUNimation have yet to confirm, deny, or even official announce the existence of them and the Dragonbox masters even being on the same continent. Nothing was announced, and the entire forum is going off of one statement made by possibly Lance, or possibly someone else. This was also announced when the set was coming out in September, which was also delayed.

Basically, for the first portions of DB, assume 'indefinant delay' until you see a listing. With Z, assume no more 3-4 ep or UUE discs will come out. I mean, it was posted on AnimeNation back in 2004, and I can't find the article, but it sticks out quite well. Back at some convention, someone at FUNimation announced all of Z would be on DVD by the end of the year. That has yet to happen and we're in 2006.

Just wait for a solicitation.
