Bah, Spider-man is highly overrated, as is anything Marvel.
Clarify please.

Well if you want a real reason why Spiderman is overrated just think back before the movie came out. No one really knew too much about him but as soon as the movie came out everyone is an expert on Spiderman, Marvel, and comics in general. Now if you ask anyone who their favorite superhero is you will always hear Spiderman. The reason? There isn't one, the response is always "I dunno, he's strong and fast''. People like him just everyone else does and because a so-so movie came out, a movie that wasn't that good I might add..

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Just so y'all know, Spidey was my favorite waaaaay before the movie existed.

Heck, I used to dream of a Spider-Man movie, and saw the first one on the first day. I plan to see #3 first day, too. I got a black costume t-shirt I'm gonna wear, and everything.

There is this one part of the original DB's opening intro song where they mention somthing about beating mutants and monsters. I kinda got the impression Woverine wouldn't like that. He he he he.

My favorite superhero is Batman because he quite simply owns every other superhero. Though I liked Spider-Man more when I was younger long before the movie.

But I digress.

How about that Wolvegetarine thingy?... Is it shooting lasers?

He was probably asking you to clarify your statement about Marvel in general. There is nothing to indicate that they are any better or worse than say, DC Comics.

I've loved Spidey since I was five years old. Spider-Man was huge long before the movie came out.

This thread has gone way off topic - and wasn't very Dragonball related to begin with.

PS - Spiderman has been the most popular comicbook character for decades before the movies came out. Spiderman's my favourite comic book character, and I fucking hate the movies. </rant>

Your joking right? Before the movie the Fox cartoon was huge. It went on from 92-97. If anything that's whats boosted his popularity.

And let's not forget the 60's cartoon, and especially not 'Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends," from the 70's.

Does anyone else think it looks crap though, and not drawn very well?
It certainly looks a lot better than most of the manga artwork I've seen in stores lately... or at least, Wolverine does...

Makes me wonder if this thread doesn't belong more on the Randomness boards... :|
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

I'm saying that the people who didn't follow those shows or the comics thought they were experts after the movies came out. Same with the X-men trilogy and every other comic movie that came out recently(Spiderman is the worst case though..).

By reading these posts it seems like people here need a random place in here to write in. And the Daizex Random board is not well-known. People, write in Daizex Random!

Well, on-topic, that armor is clearly inspired by Vegeta's costume in the Cell-saga.

No, no, we've got it all backwards. Clearly, Vegeta was inspired by Wolverine, not the other way around.

C'mon, it's easy to see...short lil' tough guy with huge hair who becomes more humanized and gets ever more exposure as the series progresses. Toriyama = rip-off!

Just kidding, guys.

You mean everytime he gets knocked out because of gas and then machosistically "forgets" to put a anti-gas mask in his tinytiny utilitibelt?
Spiderman is not the best on that front either.

Superman is the best superhero. Ever. Only weakness: Lois Lane & Kryptonite.
Batman weaknessess: Probably can't even hold a boulder up. Remove his beloved utilitybelt and "wings" and he is dead.
Spiderman weaknessess: Stronger than an average human, yes. BUT. An important thing he uses is web. Ad he is kinda good at getting webbed out. Why doesn't he just have extra web with him?! And I could guess that his sixth sense jamms up sometimes.

Tanooki, this is what I think:

I think that the forums should be "reseted".

By reading these posts, I believe that there isn't enough threads to reply to, so when the thread is "dying" everyone starts to be off topic to keep it "alive".
And then, when you make new threads, you often hear "this thread has been made before". If you make allowance to make the threads again, maybe there will be less offtopic discussion.
Sure, there was a similar thread before, but that was probably 6-12 months ago. I believe that ones opinions could change during that time.

So. There. I am a rebel.
