Your DB Achievements

Post by Maker777 » Tue Oct 03, 2006 6:29 pm

As the title states, this topic is about your achievements. What is your greatest Dragonball achievement? For me it was getting History of Trunks for $8 and learning Rock the Dragon and Tapion's flute thing on guitar. What about you?

Just to get it out of the way, it's "achievements" without an apostrophe.

And mine would probably be getting all (or most) of the FUNi GT releases on DVD (excluding the so called Lost Episodes) and getting all 42 volumes of the manga (viz version). Sadly, I paid retail price for all of that stuff, but it's still a great achievement DB-wise :D.

I think mine would be scoring a cel with it's original background of Goku during one of my favourite fights. The first dual ever with Vegeta amongst those panoramic rocky cliffs and it pans around them both as the wind blows. Awesome scene that. 8)

The Lost episodes are the ones where it shows Goku turning into a kid without the flashback from Pan?

It was hard for me to get a hold of all the ''Dragonball'' manga so I'm going to say that for now.

Yeah I paid retail price too, oh well least I have it :)

My Goten key ring also, hard to get when I was younger and not trusted to buy things on the net.

Well that's just the first episode. The other 15 episodes has Goku, Pan, and Trunks travelling through space for the Black-Star DBs. If you've got any other questions, feel free to throw 'em up in the Questions thread.

Ah, well actually managing to watch the entire series for one thing, and collecting all the volumes of the original tankoubon. Not only are those my greatest DB achievements, but they are also my greatest life achievements!......uh no, not really.....but close.

When I got every (American) DVD I felt like I hit some kind of Dragonball fan achievement, then I was like aw theres nothing left.

It was all for nothing though. When I finally got the last DVD to complete my collection, FUNimation announced new season\saga boxes in 2007. So, I'll just sell them and get the 07' boxes.

When I got Daizenshuu#1. I felt so damn happy that I got an amazing book out of Japan. It was my first imported book. :)

Well, I guess it would have to be finishing my Dragon Ball game collection collection 2000. I had every single game from the Famicom to the Playstation. And I didn't pay over $40 for any of them.

Another nice Dragon Ball achievement was when I picked up three Dragon Ball Z movies (movies #1, #2 & #4) at an anime convention way before "Dead Zone" was released here in the states. They were VHS, with excellent box art, and no subtitles, but the picture and sound quality made up for that. I bought them for $7 each. Yeah, I was a happy lad.

For me it would taping the last third of the Buu saga off of the International Channel because not only was it the first time I saw full episodes of DBZ in Japanese (up until then I had to make do with short clips off of the internet), it was also the first time I saw a large amount of the Japanese version before the English version had been released.

Also, actually watching GT in any form (Japanese) for the first time starting from Goku going SSJ4 against Bebi through the rest of the series.

I also just ordered my first 2 Daizenshuu and plan on getting 5 more.

My greatest Dragonball achievement was finally thinking of Masako Nozawa as Goku's voice.

Similarly, my greatest Dragonball shame is still thinking of Brian Drummand as Vegeta's voice. (I really want to change, but I fear Drummand's "wrath").

I'd like to say that my greatest achievement was bringing a sense of order, sanity and correct information to the GameFAQs DragonBall board...but that would be a lie. That place is nuts.

So, probably getting the Tenshinhan Saga DVD's for a buck from a pawn shop.

You can't escape ..... that WRATH!!!

(Sorry, couldn't resist :P)

I don't really know what I should consider my greatest DragonBall achievement. Right off the top of my head, I'd have to say having every DBZ/GT game that's been released in North America for the Ps1 and Ps2, said games are:

DragonBall Z Ultimate Battle 22.
DragonBall GT Final Bout.
DragonBall Z Budokai.
DragonBall Z Budokai 2.
DragonBall Z Budokai 3.
DragonBall Z Sagas.
DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi.
DragonBall Z Budokai 3 Greatest Hits.
Super DragonBall Z.
(DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 first thing next month)

This likely isn't my greatest achievement, however I am proud of being able to complete the collection of one genre of the franchise. I must say though, that as fun as most of these games are and how fun Sparking! NEO is looking, I'm very close to resenting Atari for milking DBZ with so many damn games that just keep continuing and continuing that do nothing but tell the exact same story with some added characters here and there. Oy!

I unlocked Mr. Satan in Legacy of Goku II and got his ending after leveling him up to level 50. Not much of an acomplishment though

Achievments, eh? How about reaching post number five-freakin'-hundred! Regular status! Whoot!

Back on topic, this is kinda hard. I don't really have the dough to collect anything, and haven't been a fan long enough to 'drift' into anything significant enough to count as an 'achievment.'

So, let's go with the fact that, through DragonBall, I got my sisters into anime in general, even though DragonBall is now probably towards the bottom of their favorite titles list. Still something to be proud of, I'll bet.

And I can draw DbZ (especially Super Saiyan hair) like Bulma can build costume-activating watches. Fast, efficiently, stylishly, and definitively kick-@$$-ish.

Oh, and I beat Goku in mania mode, on hard, in SuperSonic Warriors 2. I 'sure as HFIL' was proud of myself after that.

And I own Final Bout, albeit the re-release.

And I no longer say "Krillin"

...And I'm gonna write a GT Revision Fanfic... soon. Promise. It won't be typed in freakishly small font like this, though. That would just be silly.

EDIT: I just noticed how pathetically small my postcount is compared to Jersey right above me. -_-;

Heh, well Jersey's got the most posts. Hell, I'm the eighth most postingest poster (wow, that's bad English. I just can't think of the correct term.) and I'm a third of her (specifically, the limbs).
On a similar note, I've always been in favour of not showing post counts on forums. It's a distracting status symbol that means nothing.

I also hate that I have few actual products to show for my fandom. I'm not really interested in posters or dolls. And I've been waiting for the DVDs to be released in boxsets (damn you 13-month postponement!).
