But after talking to the Saiyan people and only hearing of regular SSJ, maybe he just dismissed it as something made up or imagined. That's what I would imagine the best answer is until Toriyama says something definitive.
It's a pretty awkward workaround, though. Freeza denied the existence of Super Saiyan, but still feared it. SSGod should be no different. Not to mention, Beerus dreamed of Super Saiyan God. Prior to falling asleep, the Oracle Fish only foretold of a challenger.
UpFromTheSkies wrote:Ooishi-bot should be there too, working on the next chapter of Dragon Ball SD, which Goku would think it was hilarious, Vegeta, however, not so much.
I first saw Ooishi-bot last night and got a kick out of it. I guess there's just something about cartoonishly-drawn robot-people.
FindKenshi wrote:In fact, the reaction to Tarble seemed even stronger than the reaction to Goku's mother, for some reason.
It's justified in my opinion. Vegeta swore up and down that there were no other Saiyans besides himself, Goku and Gohan. Every attempt to rationalize the discrepancy sucks, because you can't rationalize a blatant mistake as anything but.

Calling it a mistake is a little harsh, though. At the time, Son Goku and Friends Return was just a fun little special.
It was his mention in Battle of Gods that pissed off so many, and I'm not convinced that that was Toriyama's doing.

So, I'm more excited to just talk about Revival of F: What do you guys think that green fluid is around Freeza? How powerful do you think the new characters are: Sorbet and Tagoma? (Am I getting those names right?) Do you think they'll be comic relief like Avo & Cato or do you think they'll be more sinister and actually strong? Also do you think Ava Cado will return? :)

And of course the line "Let me show you... my further evolution!" and then Freeza screaming with a golden aura.. do you think it will actually be... a NEW TRANSFORMATION!? This movie is going to be awesome with tons of action. The scene in the trailer showing Beerus firing a blast, and also shows Whis, Goku, and Vegeta shielding their eyes from a blinding light: will Freeza actually fight Beerus and win? How freaking powerful do you think he became?

It would kind of be suspect if anyone in Freeza's army could compete with the Dragon Team at their current levels. Not without some type of magic/more wishes from Shenlong going on. Solely based on their designs, I think Sorbet and Tagoma will lean on the serious side, but not completely.

Someone here thought that maybe his army recreated Freeza's body & used the Dragon Balls to put his soul into it; explaining his power-up. I think that's a bit far-fetched, but something along those lines would explain the weird science-y liquid.

Honestly, it's completely within Vegeta's character to forget or ignore Tarbles existence. He's completely fixated on battle and Tarble is, well not. Vegeta may have just ignored him early in the story and later on forgot.

Or maybe that was Freeza de-evolving to his 1st form?

Hm the problem with these huge on-going mega-threads is it's very hard to navigate. I realize a lot of speculation could have already happened that I'd love to read, but I'm on page 50 of this thread so far, and it hasn't even been revealed to be Revival of F yet lol. Does anyone know which page the reveal was on so I can start reading from there?

You can search within threads. VegettoEX's post about their choice of translation is here.
If you mean the reveal of Freeza being revived, I'll find it for you in a moment.

Edit: Here you go.

I just finished going through the Kanzenshuu news archives for everything that happened in January 2013 for comparison:
Stuff we found out in January about BOG:
1/9 - instant noodles tie-in promo
1/9 - Flow's first press of "Cha-La Head Cha-La" comes with db art
1/11 - early screeings for BOG announced
1/11 - Moji Maker feature added to BOG site
1/17 - guest VA's announced
1/21 - VJump : plot info, more pre-order stuff, more early screening info, more FLOW info, DBH tie-ins, commemoration festival for BOG at Toei Kyoto Studio Park
1/21 - KFC promos
1/22 - Character page goes up on BOG site, all voice actors credited
1/24 - Miracle Battle Carddass tie-in
1/28 - Press event with Nozawa and the guest VA's
1/29 - Behind the scenes bits w/additional guest VA on Mezamashi TV
1/31 - More KFC promos
1/31 - IMAX announcement
I can only hope we get as much new info for F this month. O_O
We're definitely behind though (which makes sense, F is mid-April as opposed to end-of-March for BOG); we still don't know who's doing the songs for the opening and ending credits; the FLOW thing was announced earlier than January of that year.

It's worth noting that Battle of Gods came out half a month earlier than RoF will,
so it's possible that we won't get some of January's news until February.

Looking ahead to a future Funimation dub of this movie, who do you guys think will voice Freeza?

Will it be Chris Ayres's more faithful representation from Kai?
Or will it be Linda Young's less faithful representation from the Z dub?

I read somewhere that Funimation wants to keep the Z identity separate from Kai. They did bring back Meredith Mccoy to play 18 in Battle of Gods as well as Kyle Hebert to be the narrator. On the other hand, they kept Monica Rial as Bulma from Kai as well as Mark Stoddard as Dr. Briefs from Kai. I'm really not sure and can see it going either way. I'm actually curious to see a better-directed version of Linda Young's Freeza.

I thought Sabat said he would stick with Ayers, but unfortunately I don't know where the source is. I want to say it's buried earlier in this thread somewhere, or maybe on Sabat's Twitter account.

Yeah it was my thought that Freeza gets cloned and they revive his soul into a new, stronger body. Which would partly explain his large rise in power and the green watery fluid. Though it could just be Toriyama changing the healing pod water from the anime since it never really had color in the manga. It just wouldn't make sense given Freeza wasn't injured, he was dead. But I guess we'll get some plot details about FnF in the next 3 weeks.

I'm hoping for Ayers, but I'm likewise halfway curious to see if Young might be better at the part a second time around, with better direction and more experience under her belt. I didn't like her old Freeza voice, but I also don't think she's inherently unsuited for the role the way some people do, and I did think she was a good Genkai.

Yeah, I think it's relatively reasonable that Vegeta never mentioned Tarble before. He's portrayed as a bit of an embarrassing family secret, the member of the Saiyan royal household who was shit at fighting and had to be quietly shipped off to some distant planet where he could be out of sight and out of mind. Obviously Toriyama didn't have Tarble in mind when making the main series, but even looking at things retroactively, there's no reason for Vegeta to want to mention Tarble at any point. I mean, it wouldn't have made much sense when Trunks showed up for Vegeta to go "Impossible! There aren't any other surviving Saiyans besides me, Kakarot, Kakarot's son, and my previously unmentioned weakling brother who this clearly isn't!"

I imagine that's pretty much confirmed then unless FUNi turn around and straight up force Sabat to cast someone else.
If Ayers is coming back, then I am excited as hell to hear this news. Ryusei Nakao is one of my favorite voice actors of the Japanese cast, and Chris Ayers is one of my favorite members of the English cast. In both cases, their performances were freakin' beautiful to listen to. To hear that they'll both be getting another shot at playing my favorite villain makes me very, very happy! Consider me excited!

Young was great as Genkai, but Genkai and Freeza are fundamentally different. I'm very critical of her Freeza, and I was over the moon when I heard she was gone.

Well that means Ayers is definitely going to be Frieza right? Cause Linda Young was just imo really bad as Frieza when compared to Ayers. And if Young was Frieza in this movie.. It would really bum me out haha.

So here's my theory on the Green Goo. That is the evil of every villain Goku ever beat, all pouring into Freeza to make him the God of Evil (same way they poured their power into Goku to turn him into Super Saiyan God)

I'd rather it be a clone body or something with Freeza's soul. If we get something dumb like Freeza training in hell or getting so ridiculously strong in a short period of time via training, I'll lose it.

Speaking of English voice actors, I totally want to see Eddie Frierson back voicing Freeza with the same voice that he used back in 1997   .
