Dragon Ball Jiu-jitsu (sic)

Apparently, this mixed martial artist is such a huge Dragon Ball fan that he named his personal style after the manga.

Sorry, however, if this has already been noted.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Wikipedia: Not to be overlooked, of course, are popular influences such as the Star Wars films, and the aforementioned Dragon Ball Z manga and anime, from which Newton draws not only the name of his fighting style but his post-fight "Kame Hame Ha" celebration as well.So basically, after he beats you he does a kamehameha pose? What is this, Street Fighter? I want to fight him now. :x I don't care that his record is 14-10-0...

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Yeah, that's the guy from UFC right? I hate that show. Here's the play-by-play for every match, ever: "the opponents circle each other... circling... circling... circling... Johnson throws a flurry of punches! A kick! Robertson retaliates! Okay, now they've begun grappling... okay now they're just hugging... still hugging... still hugging... and they break apart...". Repeat as necessary.

Turns out this is my roommate's favourite UFC "fighter".

But, yeah, he calls his style "Dragonball ju-jitsu", and prances around after he hugs another guy for 10 minutes. Lame.

Now if he did a Kamehameha to beat someone instead of after he beat someone, that's be sweet.

Actually, the hugging thing is a strategy to gain back fitness and your rhythm. It is called clinching in boxing terms and is a very normal strategy used by any boxer. But it is more often than not, considered as a very negeative move since there is no "fighting" while the fighters are clinching. So, if he does that too often, then

1) He does not have enough stamina.
2) He is trying to frustrate his opponent.

And about the KaMeHaMeHa pose........ I have nothing to say... =_=

I too am not a fan of the UFC... not that I detest mixed martial arts, but because as a martial artist myself, I want to see more than just a ballet match (compare the recent episode of TMNT: Fast Forward when professional wrestling was literally turned into a dance recital).

I just thought it was fun to point this guy out.

Not a fan of UFC either. It's just as boring as boxing in my opinion. I'd rather watch some Pro Wrestling. But isn't the Kamehameha/Hadouken stance used in many martial arts as an actually attack? I've seen Heihachi use it in Tekken and other characters in other games.

Also, I really don't like the new Fast Forward TMNT, the other show was much better. And they left us with the clift hanger of those guys with the different Shredder costumes. I hope they drop fast forwrad and go back to that.

I thought it was always cool that Newton's style was named after Dragonball. As for UFC/Pride/etc. there are a few really entertaining fighters that don't hug too much that I like to watch. However, I prefer K-1 as it's all stand-up and I'm more of a standing martial artist (though I do have some ground game).

BTW: This small text thing everyone's doing nowadays really annoys me.

That Newton dude's a fool. I remember watching one of his matches a few years back. When he won, he yelled out the Kamehameha, and did the getsures with his hands. I couldn't believe it at first. Then I just started laughing.

That is kinda retarded. I would have laughed at him too. Did the ref or the guy he beat, or the croud laugh at him?

Well, now you don't have to "would have laughed" at him anymore! You can really laugh while watching this video! :)

In the beginning and at the end, he does the Kamehameha pose. He looks like a fool.

Not as much of a fool as this guy:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=5h5UW9sR7ZA

This guy went by the screen name "Chrono" and ran a site called the "Ki Sanctuary". In this video, he is supposedly transforming into his "Lion Form". He spends about 3 minutes screaming, tensing his muscles, and making the "shhooewshweewshweew" noise that a character's aura makes in DBZ when someone's powering up. He concludes with about 45 seconds of really bad "Krotty" ("Karate" sorely mispronounced) and some failing around.

Carlos Newton has nothing on Chrono in terms of foolishness.

This is not a joke! He is being serious in this video!

Wow......just wow.....I'm still sitting here shaking my head at that guy. I mean, he's pathetic and hilarious at the same time. When he was doing his crazy moves, he wasn't even looking at his target. That move where he brought his arms up to his face with his elbows sticking out would have been right where I would have taken him out with a nice sidekick to the gut and dispatched of the annoyance once and for all.

I would just punch him in the face after hearing his "shshshshshsh" sound for about 5 seconds.

Oh, good lord. I don't say this often, but what a freak. Nobody should be that... I don't even know the right word for it.

But lemme tell ya, if suddenly he did sprout a ki aura and started blowing crap up, then I'd be impressed.

I am going to give that guy a shot to the head and ask for his autograph with a Saturday Night Special pistol. I willl not be sorely disappointed as his brand of kung fu doesn't save him. Yep, keep dreaming Bardock the Mexican.

Well see, I'd give the guy a chance and patiently wait for him to see if all those animal noises and spitting actually produced something. As soon as he started in with that "wannabe Bruce Lee-esque kung-pow crap" though, I just simply move in and put a stop to his nonsense. Perhaps I'm too patient then? :/ Maybe I should just "play dirty" and snapkick him in the groin? >>
