Yeah it doesn't look like they are gonna even make an appearance. Although I don't mind, I was hoping to see them having aged a little bit. The one thing that bothers me about that quote is it still implies that they are kids but... shouldn't they actually be teenagers by now? If they were what, 7 or 8 during Buu... Shoudln't they be around 12 or 13 by this point? Shouldn't Trunks look more like he did in the History of Trunks special. I know that wasn't something Toriyama did, but did he at least draw Trunks character design for it?

Out of curiosity I was reading through the Toriyama contributions section of the site and I read this passage...

Second, the Dragon Ball Z Anime Special also noted that the episode where Goku accidentally falls down to Hell is also “full of Akira Toriyama-sensei‘s ideas!!” Unfortunately, it is not any more specific than that.

Which sort of debunks the idea that we haven't seen any of Toriyama's Hell. Although we don't know the specifics of what, it seems he did contribute to the Hell seen in the anime.

Well, thanks to AjayLikesGaming, I translated this Japanese summary of the second manga adaptation. I'm taking it on faith that whatever random Japanese person typed this up did a good job; obviously it's no substitute for having the actual chapter. Anyway, this ought to be better than the initial translation that's been kicking around.

Goku and Vegeta are training with Whis
He easily dodges their individual attacks, and when they try and hit him together, he dodges out of the way and they smash into each other instead.

Vegeta: “Kakarot!! Your aim’s way off!!!”
Goku: “No it isn’t, Vegeta!!!”
Whis: “Oh my…”
Vegeta: “Just stay out of this, Kakarot!”

Vegeta goes at Whis by himself, but Whis dodges and eggs Goku on.
The face of [Super Saiyan?] God faintly appears above Goku's own.

Whis: “Oh!”

But Whis dodges his attack, and once Vegeta returns the two of them launch another pincher attack.
Beerus shows a slight response

Whis: “Alright, stop stop. This is no good. You still aren’t nearly fast enough. Look, I even autographed you.”

His character design picture is signed on Goku and Vegeta’s clothes

Goku: “Ah, when did he-?!”
Vegeta: “Kuh”

Whis: “Getting too relaxed is also a problem. Another problem is how you overestimate yourself. No matter how strong you may be, your body is weak if you let down your guard. It’s common to see people caught off guard when they’re overconfident.”
Vegeta: “Hmph…I suppose you’re right.”
Goku: “Ow…owy o wow…N-No way!”
Beerus: “…Why is it so noisy...”
Goku: “L-Lord Beerus!”
Beerus: “How am I supposed to sleep like this?!”

He fires energy blast and destroys a sun (?)

Goku: “Y-Yikes!!! If that had hit me head-on, I’d have been blown to bits…!!!”
Whis: “He always gets like this when he’s sleepy. Once, he destroyed two of those suns over there, so everything went pitch dark. It was just awful.”

Beerus goes back to sleep

Goku: “How’d you put the suns back to normal? Can you create stars?!”
Whis: “No, in cases like this I simply do things over again”
Goku: “Do it over again?”
Whis: “I just turn back time a little bit to before he messed up, and give him a good smack.”
Vegeta: “Just what the hell are you?!”
Whis: “Hohhohohoh, how I should I put this?...I’m a life-form called “Whis”…I suppose.”

Hey Herms, quick question since we're on the topic of Hell: in the Japanese manga, was it stated that Hell was like Dabra's Demon Realm? Or simply that Dabra would enjoy Hell?

It makes a lot of sense.

For example,If you take a test and you're tense and nervous you probably won't as good as someone who's relaxed and not worried about it.

And this has always been the difference between Goku&Vegeta and it's great that it's being address finally which will lead to Vegeta doing a lot better in future battles.
