Lifespan of a Saiya-jin

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Lifespan of a Saiya-jin

Post by tenchi03 » Wed Nov 22, 2006 10:53 am

Hey guys!

I'm new to the forum and was just wondering if anyone could answer these questions:

1. What is the average lifespan of a saiyan, assuming they are not killed in battle?

2. How powerful is Super Saiyan 3? At this stage, can Goku destroy a galaxy?

No need for Welcome to the forum Tenchi. :D

We couldn't tell you, since nobody has ever seen a Saiyan die of natural causes. Needless to say they keep their youth longer, so they would appear to have exceptionally long life spans by human standards. Vegeta in his late fifties still appears to be a man in his prime at thirty-something.

Well, according to Movie 8 Broli was powerful enough to destroy the entire South Galaxy, and he wasn't even at his full power yet. Take that however you want.

Movie 8 can go to hell. Nobody can destroy a galaxy.

I bet Goku could destroy the galaxy when he first when Super saiyajin. Didn't the legend say that the legendary super saiyan was on a rampage? You gotta think about it, the heroes and villians get to a level of strength that is crazy. If Freeza could destroy the planet with his blast, then an small ki blast from Goten in his base form should destroy earth as well. Toriyama made mention of this during the Cell Games (with the Kamehamehas and such). That's why when (Super) Boo did his self destruction, the earth should've been dust.

It's just plain thinking. 400 billion stars in our galaxy. Assuming you could destroy one star every second (HA!), with no stopping at all, it would take 12,700 years.

That doesn't even count the time it would take to travel between stars in a galaxy 587,849,981,000,000,000 miles across.

Who said anything about destroying it piece by piece? I thought the srgument was 'destroy a galaxy', like "all at one".

He could just send out small little blasts big enough to destroy the planets ala his genocide attack that he used on Earth.

1. Create an explosion strong enough to a) cross 100,000 lightyears of space without losing strength during its expansion, b) tear apart stars, while c) not vaporizing yourself? Hardy har har. The goddamn universe can't pull that kind of explosion off, how is some little carbon speck going to?

2. The speed limit. The explosion can't travel faster than light, so even if it is strong enough (), it'd take at least 50,000 years to engulf the galaxy (assuming you're at the center, which is a bad idea). Most likely much more. Not exactly "all at once".

Still takes time to travel through that much space. Also, small little blasts?

Dude flies around by pushing energy down enough to counteract and overcome the acceleration of gravity on his person. Same principle as a rocket launch.

The blasts to destroy the planet don't have to be that big. Look at Freeza's Death Ball. And some of the ones Buu was about to destroy the planet with weren't that big.

It would take forever, though.

Then again, that one Kamehameha Cell fired at the end with Gohan was supposed to have been strong enough to destroy the entire solar system. Buu's so much stronger, I bet he could take out an exponential amount more with his own if he wanted.

Yeah the DragonBall galaxy must be a much much smaller size than realities galaxies. I mean they managed to reach the distant Planet Namek in... a month? When it would take us over a year just to get to Mars.

About the Saiyan lifespan, I'd say that they have a much longer youth or prime and a shorter aging period, compared to humans, who have shorter youth and longer aging.

That's because they used an advanced spaceship. Remember before finding it, they said using their fastest spaceship would have taken 4,000 years, at light speed.

They got to Jupiter in a couple minutes on the Namek spaceship. It's obviously got a FTL-drive.

Welcome, Tenchi!

1-I guess an average sayan lives more here in Earth than in Planet Vegeta. There, the G-Force is stronger, and i dont know why, i guess the cells die quickler.

2-Probably, he can.
