That's still a lot of effort that I simply don't have faith in.
Try 45 minutes.
We've got plenty of people around who make AMVs and stuff, and seem to be pretty decent with sound mixing.
In what sense? how can you tell? Post some examples (AMVs, from my experience, only require major video editing and simply putting that in time with original audio)
Members of this forum who can do goofy voices. I never even once suggested hiring "professionals."
Yeah, but if you're going to make something worthwhile you might aswell get some people who could possibly be passed off as 'professional'
I suggested basing the dialogue off of Steve's translations of the original japanese. It's the best reference we have.
It can still be taken in different ways but generally, have only one or two people doing the script. best way to do it.
'Sez you. :P
Yep.

The entirety of making 'original' productions of preexisting works is *REDUNDANT* anyway but that's not the point, it's not meant to replace the original, nor is it being sold.
Second, I will cost money!
Type learning plz
And also Funi owns the rights to DBZ, you could get sued out of oblivion....

It's a good idea :) But be careful because Funi are jerks
FUNimation wouldn't sue over a fandub that no one is going to watch. They haven't taken up severe arms against the thousands of people downloading subbed and ripped versions of their own products being distroed through bittorrent and IRC all over the world, they won't take issue with this.
Yeah sorry for my spelling...
People will watch or listen to these fan re-dubs, many people besides this forum listen to the Fyrestarter Production's Neko Majin MP3, plus that has no distrubution right in North America thats why can't get in trouble. I think it's a ligit point that Funi could sue. But know it's "could" since you said I was for free

I can help, I'll pick up a mic! I'll be Bardock or something?

As long as Kaboom or the group are not making money from the project then there shouldn't be a problem...

If anyone thinks that a movie is too much work, perhaps we can decide on a suitable episode and just dub that? Either a fan favourite or one with lots of characters?

I'd really like to see this completed!

Huh?

Well the thing with those recordings, aswell as any unauthorised duplication or whatever, is that theres this thing called the Berne convention. If someone made something in America, and the thing is licensed in japan, the japanese company that owns it could still sue them (but it'd be even more expensive) or take them to court, etc. They don't, though, because it's a waste of time and money.

My suggestion would be to maybe chose a random popular scene in the show or a single episode...(episode one is best in my opinion!)

I think a movie would be best. It's not that much longer than an episode, not really that much dialogue (most movies anyway) and some movies have large casts (which would be a boon to the project).

This site could easily get a large cast! Most people would want to get involved in this!

I'd love to. I would so voice over Son Goku, but I think my voice is more fitting for Vegeta, Juunanagou, or Cell.

Alright - we get the idea. It's just as legal as AMVs, we get it. Can we move on to ideas about what to dub, and possible audition scripts?

Well we should probably dub a movie with enough speaking roles for everyone who wants to get a part can. Movie 13 has all of the heroes in it I believe.

Well, if you guys ever do get a fandub up in the works, and if it's of movie 13, I gladly volunteer my voice for the role of Future Trunks in the ending clip. That or Hoi, I know I can pull off a whiskery old man with sinisterness. For the record, someone's gotta drag in Mike "Vegetto EX" for the role of Roshi, no one else does McFarland as good!

Oh snap, my full name is an exact resemblance to a FUNimation VA, that'd cause confusion. >.>;;
