Well, I've never been able to afford Photoshop or anything like that, and I do most of my art by hand, anyways. For the past...sheesh, 3 years, I guess, I've mastered the art of doing digital work in MS Paint, because it's free and available on almost every computer.

MS Paint and a variety of my own screwball techniques with cheap programs that are on all computers, really, MS Paint, Microsoft Photo Editor, and yes, even Microsoft Word.
Finally I've got some good software, though, as of September, and now I pretty much do all my digital stuff in Manga Studio 3.0.
