What is in the bubble where the temple master/dog man says "Woof"? Is it "wan"? I was wondering if it might possibly be 無.

It's a great big わん in the original.Kawanakajima wrote:Hi thread, does anyone have the original page of this scene from Chapter 35?

For the record, in Japanese it's literally just "Goku said that Fusion's strongest, right...?!" (悟空がいってただろ、フュージョンは最強だって...!), so "Goku said it makes the ultimate warrior" is a tad loose and "Goku said that would make them the strongest warrior in the universe" is starting to push it. Basically, the line's hyping up Fusion itself as the best, rather than saying anything directly about the warriors created via Fusion, and there's nothing about "the universe".AjayLikesGaming wrote:Here you go:

Basically, "What 'man' would have such big boobs?!!!!"
So you can see where Viz was coming from, though it seems like maybe they wanted to avoid outright saying "boobs". The Swedish translation definitely sounds like it's trying to skirt the issue.

If you want to be super nitpicky, the original is more "you'll never be able to return" rather than "you'll never get out", but yeah, it's spot on otherwise.AjayLikesGaming wrote:Yup, he does.
You can see the kanji for hell (地獄) in the corresponding panel. Likewise 'slip' or 'fall' is in there, too (落ち). It's a fairly literal translation from what I can tell.

Sure, here's the shot in question:ShadowDude112 wrote:In Viz's Dragon Ball Z Volume 12, when Namek is exploding, Goku yells "I can't stop it!" Could anyone tell me what he says in Japanese? Because what Viz has him say never made any sense to me.

Could be, but keep in mind that "taro" is a generic ending for Japanese male names. And in my experience Otohime is usually called "Otohime" rather than "Toyotama".dbgtFO wrote:Does anyone know, if Toyble's artist name for Shueisha, Toyotaro, comes from the legend of Taro Urashima?
Toyo from Toyotama/Otohime and Taro from the title character himself??
Oh, so it could just be a coincidence then. A little disappointing, but thanks for the helpHerms wrote:Could be, but keep in mind that "taro" is a generic ending for Japanese male names. "Thanks to the power of this God-like form, Son Goku has achieved a power not seen in any dimension! Even the mightiest champions of GT pale in comparison to the Super Saiyan God!"
Can anyone let me know if the scans and translations are valid? Would prove extremely helpful and I'd thoroughly appreciate it."The prince of the Saiyans confronts the God of destruction himself! After Beerus struck Bulma down Vegeta entered an extremely rare but powerful state, in which he is able to tap into the Godly power that flows through his people's veins since the dawn of their existence! He is able for a short moment fight Beerus, but ultimately falls short to his power and fails."
