This is the weirdest complaint people have about Goten. You mean that between the ages of 7 and 17/23, he started liking girls?!?!?! WTF since when does that happen to growing boys?!

I'm not complaining about Goten getting into girls. If anything it is more relatable. But I was explaining how Goten became quite similar to Yamcha, with his flirtatious attitude being one of my points.

Flirtations attitude towards his girlfriend? The only girl in the entire series that he dated? Compared to Yamcha whom is shy around girls and in the anime was a cheater.
Goten was loyal. Yamcha (and Bulma) was not. Not the same at all. Didn't know everyone having a girlfriend was the same.

They didn't even change the font, guys. Or at least change the colors. Kai's got a nicer "stands on its own" logo.

It is normal for a guy to flirt with his girlfriend. But a guy is immediately a flirt when they flirt with multiple girls. And Valese is the name of the girl Goten went out with in GT, at least probably for the English dub (Unlike Z, I only saw the English dub for GT).

And I'll just say you can believe what you want. I think Akira Toriyama decided to recycle many aspects from Yamcha when he worked on Goten for the EoZ. If you want to go against that, then by all means.

When Goku fights Whis in the manga, there's a panel that shows an image of SSJG Goku in the background as he's about to hit Whis. It's sort of like that scene where Oozaru Goku appears shortly before he punches a hole through King Piccolo.

I've always hated how shallow and pointless Goten was. Yes, he's cute and all, he's 50% of Gotenks and that's it. Did we really need another son for Goku who happens to be a carbon copy of him with no personality of his own? We already got to see Goku's "parenting skills" with Gohan. He's basically that kid who hangs around with Trunks. I did like his reaction to his mother's death and how he got serious for about five minutes...right before going back to his usual shallow self.

Trunks wasn't that much better. But at least he did have a personality of his own and he existed...well, because Future Trunks did

I'm inclined to agree with you. One of the only reasons I ever liked Goten was because he was similar to Goku, but that wasn't good enough when the latter was brought back. These days, you could have him there just for Gotenks or give focus to Trunks. I don't care for him that much at this point, but I will admit that I liked him in GT solely for the fact that he felt more like his own person as did Trunks.
