Tullece seems to be a controversial character

After the whole "OVA" thing (don't worry, I've learned my lesson about that one :x ), this comes up.

Nobody seems to listen to reason anymore.

*sigh* Iditoic really. It's outright stated in the Movie that a lot of the Low Levels looked similar. Just plain sad.

Should I mention that my eyes are less than perfect, therefore I never drew any visual connection between the way Goku and Tullece look, and it never occured to me until reading the Daizex rumor guide that Tullece and Goku were remotely related. I rewatched the movie afterward and nope, I heard absolutely nothing to suggest such a thing...
Furthermore, my 7YO cousin watched it as well, and what was the first conclusion he drew upon seeing Tullece? Why, he thought he was Bardock, of course!

A friend of mine, while rewatching the series not-too-long after I got into the Daizex podcast, was watching the movie and said something to the effect of, "So Turl'es is Goku's clone right?" And when I asked where that idea came from he said "They mentioned something about htem being from the same blood...".

Is it worth mentioning on a wiki talk page that the visually challenged child never drew a connection between Tullece and Goku, the 7YO originally mistook him for Bardock, and the random other fan said 'clone' and could only recall a vague line vaguely (!).

That's the annoying thing about a lot of people on the internet that try to convince you of things; they don't give reasons, they just expect you to know that it's truth without providing any evidence (This effect has no limits on topic...). And that is why Daizenshuu EX wins, but you all knew that. :D.

He's not Goku's brother, that much has been established. But why does he look like Goku? The 'some low level warriors look the same' excuse is a little vague.

I am already in two Wikiprojects and do not have the time to join a third.

I thank anyone for their support in this. Perhaps if this loon sees how many individuals know the truth, he or she will back down.

Because Toei was feeling lazy. Simple enough.

I really hate that kind of response, it's pretty obvious they were going for a "what-if Goku hadn't hit his head as a baby/became an 'evil' Saiyan". If they didn't make them look alike how would there be any connection? He would just be another random villain.

Eh, I don't mind too much. It's cool to see Goku face off against "himself". If you want to see it from an artistic standpoint, it could be the same as Kami and Piccolo, Ying-Yang, Superman and Bizzaro, and all of that good stuff. All this talk makes me think about movie three and now I have a great idea: we should do a movie three dub.

I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Its not about being lazy, the point of Movie 3 was to show what Goku would be like if he didn't hit his head, hence, Tullece looking exactly like Goku.
That should basicly be the end of it.
EDIT: Damnit! Mika beat me to it!

I never thought about Tullece like that before. But really, if Tullece is Goku's Bizarro he should say everything backwards, hehe. Me am Tullece! XD

EDIT: Now that I think about it Tullece is more of a General Zod type character. Especially the General of Pokolistan Zod. He looked just like Superman, but he was very evil.

Or it could be like Superman III when Clark fights Superman (Goku "taking on" a saiyan which could be seen as his savage side). Damn, is Conan reading this..o_0..

Better believe I am, and I kinda see your point. The whole Kakarrot/Goku and Kal-El/Clark Kent issue is very similar, though since Goku's Kakarrot essence was basically eliminated from him with his infant head-drop (save for Oozaru transformations and possibly half of his personality in SSJ4), we know Goku doesn't go through internal struggles about who he really is. The closest he really came to it was when he first went Super Saiyan, even Roshi could sense it from Earth, it felt like Goku was changing through his rage and nearly losing himself, that seemed to be a real struggle between the humanity Grandpa Gohan raised him into and the Saiyan bloodlust dormant since birth.

DBZ movie 3, definitely seems like an ideal Goku Vs. Kakarrot type of situation, and it helps that Masako Nazowa voices Tullece as well. Superman's gone through such situations where Kal-El has battled Clark Kent, though for Superman, neither side is evil. In situations like Superman 3 and even an episode of Smallville, the Kal-El side was just being manipulated by either a tar-drenched chunk of Kryptonite, or the ambiguous ambitions of Jor-El.

Damn...why do I get the feeling we're going off topic. >_>;;

Not entirely. Gokuu has often been paralleled as Japan's Superman.
