Or why it can't just tell stories for things we won't see in the anime, like behind the scenes stuff?
- it's exciting to have a manga version of awesome events such as Super Saiyan 3 VS Beerus.
- it's exciting to have a preview of what's to come since waiting for the TV show to get there is way too long.
Double excitement, more sells for V-Jump, more happy fans. Everybody wins.
I don't think it's much of a surprise.Hellspawn28 wrote:Champa showing up early is a surprise
First, we saw him in trailers, which are necessarily composed of early episodes.
Second, the opening clearly shows that Champa is part of the Battle of Gods arc (the opening will clearly be updated later to show Freezer and Super Saiyan God SS once the Battle of Gods arc is over to enter the Resurrection 'F' saga, and then updated once again for the Super Dragon Balls saga).
So Champa was going to appear very quickly, I think that was predictable.
Right now, it's also tempting to assume that the battle on Earth will be Goku VS Beerus and Vegeta VS Champa at the same time judging by the opening.
