Did we get this Toriyama comment translated?(It's from Saiyo Jump in 2014).

Did it back when the magazine (the July 2014 issue of Saikyō Jump) first came out in June last year, but I don't think it ever made it on the site for some reason. (Psst! Mike! Heath!)

(Toriyama) For some reason, Dragon Ball, which was supposed to have ended ages ago, is still going on even though I haven't done anything special.[*Translator's note: This in no way indicates a new series. It's just talking about Kai and spinoffs and stuff.]

So, I was told to draw a bit of Dragon Ball manga for Saikyō Jump, as well.

Thanks for the translation! I've been digging a bit to see, if I could find some stuff you didn't have up yet, so when I saw this, I just had to know.

The Elder Kaioshin line has already been covered earlier in this thread:

悪い/warui is "bad/evil", pretty straightforwardly. However, the 今の魔人ブウほどじゃないがな/"not as much as this Majin Boo guy now though" bit could be referring both to the unnamed bad guy's evilness and strength. The wording I used in the Strength Checker makes it sound like he's talking exclusively about Boo being eviler than the evil guy who sealed him away, but it's not really clear cut like that in Japanese. I should probably get around to fixing it.

Chi Chi yells at Goku for letting him and Gohan get all dirty; over ten years later, the same scene plays out with Goten. In the second one, Gohan lets slip that training with Piccolo hasn't been so bad, since Piccolo does "choo choo" (ちゅっちゅ) for him a lot. Piccolo's embarrassed since he told Gohan never to tell anyone else about that; he says he'll have to spank Gohan later. Not 100% sure what ちゅっちゅ/chucchu is; ちゅう/chuu is the sound of kissing, so...? Unless it's supposed to be the train sound like in English. Anyway, I assume the idea is that Piccolo's been doing some kiddie playtime thing as part of his raising Gohan.

I have a question about the name of the movie villain from "the tree of might". How is his name written and spelled in the original japanese movie? I have seen:
Turles
Tullece
Tales ( From the german dub I watched if I remember correctly)

I also looked up the name puns from Herms and didn't find his name.

Edit: I wrote Turle s first but it got autocorrected, so I guess Tullece is his real name?

In keeping with the Saiyan vegetable theme, he's named for lettuce. [D10]
Source Spelling: レタス/retasu
Name Spelling: ターレス/Taaresu

so I guess Tullece is his real name?

Beerus: I heard from Whis, here, that you're the one who defeated Freeza?

Goku: Freeza? Yeah, I defeated him, all right. Sir.

Beerus: It doesn't appear to me like you could defeat him as you are, but I understand you transform and power up... into what's called a Super Saiyan.

This translation is correct.

Lol. No, not at all. I was only asking because the English dub has Beerus state: "It doesn't seem possible that you could defeat [Freeza] as you are"--which makes it sound like a significant gap in power still existed between them. Conversely, the original Japanese dialogue implies that they were at least close to the same level, imo.
