It would be nice if they just wrote them out of the show then. If they aren't going to serve any purpose just stop putting them back into stuff like they eventually did for Lunch. They don't need it to protect their families, Goku & Vegeta are already better to this than them, since they keep training, and they can merge with Fusion or the Potara if there is no way for Goku & Vegeta to defeat an enemy together, which is far more efficient than having SSGSS Gohan & SSGSS Gotenks around. And even if SSGSS Vegetto is unable to defeat said a enemy alone, Gohan & Gotenks won't be strong enough to make a difference. The only real reason the Saiyan Halflings need SSGSS is fan-service..

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I don't really think this kind of banter should be brought back and forth again. Honestly I kinda wonder if this question is brought up every episode whether or not the others can, should, or would use the super easy convenient ritual. Perhaps in time we'll get an answer within the series. Of course there's plenty of answers we can draw from such as lack of interest or care...especially the care part to quite frankly scary degrees.

That's beyond the point. The point was that it wasn't something Goku just relaxed and bam, God happened.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Vegeta said that because he wanted to be an ass.Araki wrote:Yeah, but it took a while, and Vegeta even asked if he would like to be replaced, saying he should stop complaining.

I'll have to disagree, especially in light of F, but that's my opinion.DBZGTKOSDH wrote: They don't need it to protect their families, Goku & Vegeta are already better to this than them, since they keep training, and they can merge with Fusion or the Potara if there is no way for Goku & Vegeta to defeat an enemy together, which is far more efficient than having SSGSS Gohan & SSGSS Gotenks around. You don't need to have a huge power to serve a purpose to DB. Gohan got weaker in FnF, and yet he still served a purpose. Even weaklings like Kame-sennin & Jaco served their purpose.ekrolo2 wrote:It would be nice if they just wrote them out of the show then. James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I definitely don't want to see the whole ritual. Especially not after Super made it take half a episode. BUT, I would love to see a flashback of him in the form or whatever. Just something to get it animated, if for no other reason than to see people complain about Toei ruining the character by giving him Super Saiyan God's features (the larger eyes, the skinny build, etc).Cipher wrote:I'm also of the opinion that we totally don't need to see Vegeta's god ritual. We already know how it goes.

This may happen by the universe 6 arc thankfully. I'm actually pretty excited to see the new characters they hinted at being on par with Goku. A new Z group would be fascinating.ekrolo2 wrote:It would be nice if they just wrote them out of the show then. So am I, a nice bone to throw the people who still want some of the regular crew would be to have them face threats without Goku or Vegeta there to help but sadly I think that won't happen despite the potential it presents.dbzfan7 wrote:This may happen by the universe 6 arc thankfully. I don't really think now is too different from how GT handled characters.ekrolo2 wrote:So am I, a nice bone to throw the people who still want some of the regular crew would be to have them face threats without Goku or Vegeta there to help but sadly I think that won't happen despite the potential it presents.dbzfan7 wrote:This may happen by the universe 6 arc thankfully. In the mean time we always have some nice fan manga that actually do worthwhile things with those who's time have come. Piccolo is awesome in DBNA, the halflings had more to do in the other DBAF, and that other DB fan manga I forgot did have Oob finally get to step up. It's at least nice to see some stuff by fans.

Just one more episode. Just one more and we finally have some new content.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

The point is exactly that Goku and Vegeta are interested in training, so they won't stay around Earth to protect it, since they'll be training elsewhere. Look at the situation in RoF, when their only hope is to somehow get Goku and Vegeta to notice what was going on. A Gohan SSJ God, even if weaker than Goku and Vegeta could still be somewhere around Freeza's level, and he'd be on Earth all the time, unlike his father.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:They don't need it to protect their families, Goku & Vegeta are already better to this than them, since they keep training, and they can merge with Fusion or the Potara if there is no way for Goku & Vegeta to defeat an enemy together, which is far more efficient than having SSGSS Gohan & SSGSS Gotenks around. Of course, this is all assuming that they won't explain that retaining the SSJ God power is something special. If they do that, the current lazy Gohan seems like he wouldn't bother.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
You know... this makes me wonder if Goku will leave all the responsibility to Uub and Pan so he can leave and train all he wants without worrying there's no one at the required level to protect Earth.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

And we have confirmation that half-breed Saiyans can become Super Saiyan Gods...how? We don't.Doctor. wrote:They have a walking plot device in the form of the Super Saiyan God ritual available AT ANY TIME. The writers can make him as strong as they want besides that, true, but how will they do that? They can either have him just train and get x times stronger without any reason or explanation, like GT did with Goku, or they can bring a reason for his huge increase in power, like a new form or a new training method. As far as we know, there is no way for Gohan to get extremely stronger than he is, except if he was to become a Super Saiyan God.Doctor. wrote:There's nothing "doubtful" about it. Gohan doesn't have a set strength level. He can get as strong as the writers want him to get, he unlocked his potential like 3 times after all. They just don't want to use the character anymore.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion

Can anyone tell me, What does this say about episode 14 of super?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I definitely see that Gokû is in a "big pinch" (pink text on the right), but everything else is too tiny or complex.
It looks maybe Piccolo and Vegeta will help him? I'm not sure.
I do like how their main picture for Vegeta in these it's him in his casual wear from episode 2. XD

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The only thing disappointing about this news is that if it gets collected into a tankobon, we're missing an arc from the overall story. Though I suppose they could collect the three "F" promotional chapters he already did and just whip up one more to finish the battle. xD
Anyway, maybe we'll learn Girl!Whis' name soon.
