Re: Toyble DBAF - updated Feb 9, 2010 - page 162
Do we really need to have them fight the Shadow Dragons again? I hate when stories have repeates of stuff that we already seen which is why I did not like the Super 17 arc in GT at all. I was hoping for more original story this time, and no more "OMG he is back from Hell, and he is 1000000X stronger then before" type.

It does not appear they will be. Liang Xing Long was just giving his opening monologue before Son told him "Sorry, can't play today."Hellspawn28 wrote:Do we really need to have them fight the Shadow Dragons again? I made the same mistake. :p

Maybe I should change that last line to make that clearer? The word used is gokko, playing make-believe. So perhaps "Let's not play make-believe 'palace of evil' today" or something?
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?

Am I the only one who is excited about the Shadow Dragons appearing? I wonder if Omega Sheron and Xicor are connected in some way?
Can't wait for more pages, this dojin is so much better than Dragon Ball Multiverse.

I am way to tired tonight to disagree with about everything you just said. So let me just abbreviate my long rant into a not so short sentence:Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Am I the only one who is excited about the Shadow Dragons appearing? I wonder if Omega Sheron and Xicor are connected in some way?

No one who have watched GT will be excited to see the old villains appear again, If Xicor was connected to shadow dragons that would dumbest thing Toyable have written so far, and DBM current massive fanwank to Broly extravaganza is a hundred times better than DBAF's 100+ plus pages of NOTHING but drawn out fight scenes.
Hopefully this pointless argument I've started will continue for another day. Good night

Well, I liked the Shadow Dragons in Dragon Ball GT so I am happy to see them again. I only said that Xicor was connected to Omega Shenron because of the Shadow Dragons' appearance in the story and the things on Xicor's chin which are similar to Omega Shenron's.Scarz wrote:I am way to tired tonight to disagree with about everything you just said. I like the fact that they appeared, I hope Iishinron makes an appearence. I liked the whole thing about the dragons, albeit not liking some of them. I like GT for what it is, sure it's dumbed out, but it's got lots of good ideas; I love the whole thing about Baby, and also his character, purpose and looks. And I too think this manga is superior to multiverse; it's better drawn and more interesting.

100% agreed, GT has some good ideas but didn't execute them well and DBAF>DBM definately.DNA wrote:I like the fact that they appeared, I hope Iishinron makes an appearence. Allow me to show why both of you are wrong.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:DBAF>DBMScarz wrote:DBM>DBAF

One cannot be better than the other, because at these exact instances, both became utter shit.

But Dragon Ball Multiverse is more shittier than Dragon Ball AF.

Saying DBAF is better or worse than DBM isn't fair. They are very different fan-made manga - one is based on DBGT, another behaves more like a mix of DBZ film and video-game. The artwork in both of them are excellent, can't really say one is better than the other is.
I honestly like more DBM than DBAF cause the latter DBAF is really walking the same path as DBGT, which is a shitty path. DBM is fresh, original and you don't need to wait two months to read two pages.

Re: Toyble DBAF - updated Feb 9, 2010 - page 162
DBM > DBAF
DBAF gives me the intense feeling of fan made. DBM doesn`t give me that feeling nearly as often. Its almost as if I wouldn`t be surprised if DBM was an official manga/anime (not by the author, but by somebody else, like GT was), but I would be surprised if DBAF was.
Besides that, DBM has more interesting ideas and situations and the fact that it ignored GT is just awesome, since GT had more bad than good.

Seriously? Multiverse is basically the posterchild of Dragon Ball fan-wank. It's all these characters implausibly brought together doing nothing but fighting for literally no purpose.rereboy wrote:DBAF gives me the intense feeling of fan made. Yes... That is called a tournament... That is what its supposed to happen... People get there and they just fight. And we learn something about them in the process. And there is nothing more DragonBall-like than a tournament.desirecampbell wrote:Seriously? Multiverse is basically the posterchild of Dragon Ball fan-wank. I don`t know... DBM to me just feels so much natural...
In DBAF basically we just get the "next uber villain" who drops from the sky and happens to be stronger than anyone and, by the way, is the son of Goku and a God because that God stole Goku`s blood sometime ago and some other crazy shit which just feels that it was thought up by a fan. (oh and Gohan can go SSJ4 just because.. )
On the other hand, in DBM, we get basically just what I would imagine Dragon Ball would be if there was a tournament between parallel worlds. There are a few liberties (like with the Brolly`s case) but there are some pretty good solid ideas there, and we can really enjoy the fights without having to think "those guys are not the strongest we saw so far in the show". Also some universes can really be a good source for great background stories.
Besides that, the very idea of parallel worlds is a great addition to Dragon Ball because it takes it all just one step further like Dragon Ball always does (strongest in earth, strongest in the universe, strongest in the multiverse, god of earth, kaio, kaioshin, etc) with great twists because it allows unlikely fights to happen within reasonable logic.
I like DBAF and DBM but I like DBM a lot more.

I like both evenly, but if I had to choose it would probably be Multiverse and thats only because it has a schedule of being updated twice a week. Then again you would have to decide between 2 pages on a weekly basis or several pages on a random basis.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Probably because it isn't based on GT.rereboy wrote:desirecampbell wrote:I don`t know... DBM to me just feels so much natural...

I still think the art in DBAF is much better. And I disagree with rereboy. I think DBAF would be a much more plausible oficial work than multiverse. Multiverse is nothing but pure fan-wank.

I will be piss off if Goku beats all of the Shadow Dragons in his base form. And I think it's pointless to have them to return in my opinon.
