Kinda funny that Kuririn went from being treated as part of the main cast in the initial promos for this movie to being barely noticeable. Also first super powered animal-person villain! That is something.

It looks like there's some sort of floating island under the guy in the background, or is that the lookout?

My first thought is that it looks a bit like the DB cosmic ball thingy, that contains both the DB living world and afterlife, as seen in guidebooks and in the afterlife tournament arc for a bit. Maybe implying these new gods are from somewhere outside of everything we've seen so far? But I'm probably over-thinking it.

The title is really weird. It says "Battle of Gods" in English then says "God Upon God" (Literally "God and God") in Japanese. If you read it straight through from left to right it says "Battle God and God of Gods."

I don't understand what's wrong with a SSJ Gohan after he received his Ultimate power up. It was never stated that he could not go SSJ again.

As for that rabbit guy, it looks very Egyptian indeed. Seems interesting, even if that guy (assuming he is the major villain in this movie this time), doesn't look intimidating and menacing at all to me.
The important question for me here is: Who's that flying angelic being in the background?

The bulging eyes, the nose and mouth shape are what seem to imply cat for me. Also the Egyptian style clothing.

Well Dragon Ball, you just got me to Google "are there rabbits in egypt".
This movie poster is so weird.

The more I look at rabbit-guy, the more I start to think he's really a cat-guy. He's got those ancient Egypt accessories on, and cats were revered there way back when, but now that I've done a search and found out there was an Egyptian rabbit god as well....I guess it could be either one until we see if he's got a cat or rabbit tail.

The manga sort of implied it, if you ask me. Elder Kaioshin told Gohan to "do that Super thing" to activate it, then went on to explain that transforming is the wrong way of doing things. More importantly, if Gohan could still become stronger by becoming a Super Saiyan, why didn't he do so when Buu was beating him up?

You're not. My mind went to jackal when I first saw it, but the snout isn't quite right for that. Egyptian cat seems pretty likely.

I think it's funnier to keep calling it a rabbit despite this, but that's probably just me.

I love egyptian stuff so if this movie has that with an awesome shadow like tournament. I'll be one happy camper

Little trivia bit: this wouldn't be the first time we've seen a villain who has a design based on a cultural asthetic. Majin Boo definitely had an Arabic thing going on.

Maybe Toriyama's changing it up and going with Egyptian this time?

Assuming that this is real....at least they're going the mystical route, as opposed to the Sci-Fi one.

Not gonna say anything else (other than the fact that this doesn't seem "Dragon Ball"- which isn't necessarily a bad thing) till we have more information, but given that this is the first time I've been involved in pre-Dragon Ball Movie hype, I'm sure people had the same "WTF?" reaction when say, Hildegarn was revealed.

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm most fixated on Gohan somehow being a Super Saiyan again. I just hope that IF this is legit and IF he's a Super Saiyan in the movie, that they'll offer at least a tiny explanation for it. I wonder if this is some sort of attempt to bridge the gap between Z and GT in that sense.

Though Mister Catman villain does look kind of cool, and whoever's chilling in the background certainly has the potential to be even cooler.
