I know some people may have trouble seeing the pictures because they are lightly sketched. I refuse to color them since I suck at coloring & I feel it will ruin my sketches. I'll try to make them more defined if I decide to stop being lazy & to post any more in the future.
They look fine to me, but if you wanted to make them darker anyway, you could use a program like Photoshop to simply adjust the levels or contrast, and make it darker. I'm sure other, free programs do this too, but I never actually use anything other than Photoshop, so I wouldn't know.

Heck, maybe your scanner program can adjust the levels.

Well, here's something I've been trying to do recently. I was sorta trying to make one of those collage posters with a lot of characters on it. The one I was trying to do was getting all of the Saiyajin members that have names and have appeared in the series.

Image

This one was just starting off with Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta. But, I drew them too big, and like..I can't fit EVERYONE on there. So I'm gonna have to draw a smaller one. Plus, I didn't like the way I drew Vegeta anyway. Look's funny.

Also, I darkened the lines so that you guys can see it better.

Very nice sketches! I'd love to see what you can do when you put some time into a project!

Hey Bura, do you ink your drawings before you color them? If you do, what kind of pen do you use? I was looking for a pen to ink my drawings with that don't end up looking like crap at the end.

EDIT:

Also, Holken, I like your SSj3 picture the most. Goku looks very serious, and the muscle structure looks awesome.

Do you ink your drawings too? As mentioned, I'm looking for pens to use. IF you can, help me out with that one. Thanks.

Question for BURA

Post by SonGokuGT » Wed Jun 07, 2006 11:31 pm

BURA - I know its a stupid question, but... What program do you use to color your drawings? It's probably Photoshop, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I also want to know how you learned to color like that? Is there a particular book or website you used as a reference?

~Thanks in advance!

Well, I color things using Photoshop. To me, it's really fun to color images.

Here are a few things I've colored so far:

Also, I colored my avatar.

I learned how to color using this website ( http://www.cablenet.ne.jp/%7ejapanime/t ... gmain.html ), but I added my own little mix to it. So, hope that helps.

Holken: I noticed a mistake in your SSJ2 Goku picture!!

Goku's eye outlines aren't drawn all the way, like they are for any character in SSJ.

Sad how I notice these kinds of things, huh?

Well, the hard-lined eyes are drawn to show 'evil' and becuase Toriyama wanted to show that the SSj tansformation had a bit of evil in it, he drew the eyes with a full border.

Though we do see Full Power SSj Goku and Gohan with eyes without borders between training and the Cell games.

@ SonGokuGT: Why, thank you! I'm glad to hear that. ^^ And yes, I do use Photoshop. V. 7 to be exact. Uh well, I just figured out how to colour in Photoshop by myself actually. And I use DBZ cels for an example, to see how they colour and stuff. That helped me out a lot!

@ Saiyan: Uh well, I sometimes ink my fanart in Photoshop, but that tends to get a little messy. Mostly I'll just grab a pen lying around and draw, scan it and colour it.

Okay, time for me to jump on the bandwagon. I don't draw DBZ stuffs as much as I used to, but it is still in all of my art work one way or another.

I'm a bit hesitant to post anything here. I'm not terribly proud of a lot of my stuff. But meh, I'll bite. There's a few at least I don't mind too much. It's like, at the time I thought they were awesome, and as I got better I started seeing all the mistakes.

Yamcha's Kaioken

It's ok, but it definitely needs to be re-colored.

I really like how this one came out honestly.

And lastly, a bit of humor.

Update: Issue 10 is up! Volume 1 is complete!
