There is no way to tell, it depends on how strong the character is, how strong the blast is, how condensed it is, what type of blast it is, etc. And as we've all seemed to have made the mistake at least once in our Forum excersions of trying to apply real-world logic to Dragon Ball. It simply can't be done, because the Dragon Ball universe's physics and rules exist in Toriyama's head, which is obviously not realistic given a series where humans co-exist with aliens, dinosaurs, robots, genies, talking animals, demons, dragons, and houses that can instantly shrink to the size of an unused tampon.

That's got nothing to do with Ki beyond the fact Ki emits light. The entire reason Goku transformed was to make the place brighter so he could see. SSJ just happens to put out a lot of light. So ki =/= light energy. But an SSJ lightbulb does~

You keep saying light light...Try light energy which is Ki.

You keep saying light light...Try light energy which is Ki.

Ki is not light energy. Ki is internal energy. The only reason it's visible at all is because Toriyama's wife said it'd be more interesting if people could see the attacks. Before that it was all going to be completely invisible.

The comic said Goku's Super Saiya-jin form is "light Energy" which IS Ki.
Yakon eats Light energy, his planet of darkness is because of him eating stars.

Imagine a light bulb - a light bulb's main form of energy is electricity, but it gives off radiant light and heat too. Electricity isn't "light energy", light is simply a byproduct or the energy transfer.

So, Goku has ki, and light is a byproduct of using it, but it is not simply 'light energy"

The light bulb analogies are not good one's really.

The manga said that Yakon eats light energy. Nowhere does it say that "ki is light energy". I know what the manga said.

Gohan told Goku not to transform into shiney bright lightbulb anymore. He didn't tell him not to use his Ki. Which is what you're implying. Ki emits light but Ki is not light.

Since this clearly comes from my summaries, I guess it's only fitting that I be the one to clarify. The phrase used is 光のエネルギー (hikari no enerugii), which can pretty much only be interpreted as "light energy" or "energy of light."

However... All that is implied from the dialogue in question is that Yakon can eat light energy from Gokuu when he is in SSJ form. To say that "light energy" equals "ki" based on that is a logical flaw.

And, there's another big flaw in your argument anyway. Everyone has ki all the time, and someone as strong as Gokuu has a very large ki even before he's transformed. So why doesn't Yakon eat Gokuu's ki when he's not in SSJ form? And it being suppressed (why would he purposely lower it in the middle of a fight, anyway?) doesn't mean it's gone; it just means it's hidden.

Well, Goku did sustain it for quite a while. That'd be like turning on the water in the tub and letting it run for an hour. Eventually the tub *will* overflow~

Yeah, but he more or less made it happen with one burst, whereas Yakon was enjoying the rest like a good helping of chicken soup during the flu season.

Given the situation, it'd be more analogous to someone routing the entire contents of a small pond into the tub than letting the water run from the faucet for an hour. When Gokuu transformed into an Ssj2, he sent a huge burst of light energy into Yakon, far exceeding what he was capable of ingesting at one time.

What is Taiyoken anyway? Just bringing as much physical ki to cover their bodies as quickly as possible?
If Goku as a Super Saiya-jin 3 did this, he could probably bend the light right around the world, enough to sizzle our corneas, I'm guessing.
