It's been YEARS since I bought anything Funimation was peddling, and wasn't sure if I should bother with GT (though I really want to have it on DVD). Looks like Funi will be getting a few bucks after all...
Just be warned, we'll probably be seeing a "remastered" boxset sometime in the future, so if that's your thing, keep that in mind.

Otherwise, FUNi's DVDs are actually a good way to own DBGT, and you can track down the whole series in four boxed sets, I believe.

To clarify:

The original DVDs, and UUEs have the options of English dub with Falconer/Mezna bgm and original Japanese dub with original Japanese bgm.

The new season sets have both those options as well as a third: English dub with (most of) the original Japanese bgm.

Yeah, the JPN audio for Season 1 & 2 were good, but the audio for Season 3 wasn't as good.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression that before the Season sets, Funimation never included the original Japanese BGM on their DVDs. If the series was released consistently on DVD, there would be no reason to even buy the Season sets.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

But don't worry, you'll have that option when they chop the top and bottom off, white out the lines, and claim that the only difference is that it looks better and has more side footage. But hey, that would be worth it just for the dub voices with Japanese music :) I'd get it.
In total agreement here. I think the music in GT is one of the big reasons I liked it. The opening theme is my favorite in all of DB; the dub music is uncommonly bad, and the opening theme is so bad I just keep expecting Funi to send out a press release proclaiming, "Gotcha!" and release their "real" theme. I like dubs better in animation because it allows me to take in the artwork better, so the Z season dvds with Japanese music were right up my alley. If you just want the original Japanese version though, these DVDs are exactly what you want.
