Hey you guys might know this, but who is Il Padrino. Is he the creator of this forum and was close friends with Mike and let him run it? I am very curious to know who he is or who he was. By the way if you don't know what i'm talking about here's the link.

I think he's the one who supplies the server for the forum.

It's just one of those special rankings that EX gives to people he knows personally. I'm guessing it's because he supposedly killed off the entire cast in that one April Fools' podcast episode (which reminds me, will we be getting one this week, too?), but I'm not absolutely sure.

We already got one. I'd be more specific, but that would kind of spoil the whole thing.

Yeah, I'm aware of this year's prank, but I'm still holding out for something in the podcast, too.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. But this next podcast is another Manga Review of Awesomeness, like it was for the last April Fools Joke. It'd be neat for them to at least have a little throwback.

The difference is it's not going to be released on April Fools' Day like last year, so I doubt they'll do anything too extravagant.

It be kind of cool if they continued where the last april fools episode left off. It be like a once a year series. I don't know how that would work with only 1 person left alive, but who knows.

Back on topic: I never really took the time to see how many rankings there are. I can cross this off my, "things to look for when I'm bored" list. Thanks.

Certainly seems like it.

Anyway, does anyone else think that it require far too many posts to completely shed "newbie" status? 4 out of the 10 statuses are some degree of newbie, making the vast majority of posters newbies. It seems like there should be a few more terms, since it's a bit hard to keep track of the different stages of newbie. I don't think it does a very good job of distinguishing between the different post ranges. Although maybe I'm just bitter because I'm still not at "regular" status...

I think 500 posts pretty much would show people coming here regularly, thus earning said person the title of regular. I see no problem there.

I've always been of the mind to do away with post counts entirely.

I don't know. I've been on member for some time now and if I see someone who has been active for a long or has a lot of posts, I take what they say more seriously. I figure that if they have been making a lot of posts and are still here they must be doing something right. This doesn't mean, however, they I completely disregard the new people.

Don't you think that's a bit unfair to judge like that. This is a bad example, but what if Akira Toriyama suddenly found this site and started posting. You would disregard his opinoins even though he knows more than any of us about dragonball.

In all honesty, I'm with desirecampbell on this... I hate post counts, think they're stupid, blah blah blah. But I realize I'm not the only one here, and people as a whole seem to like them.

That's why I've tried to put in some funny ones and a few inside-joke-DBZ ones (for example, "beyond-the-beyond" is obviously a reference to the various sub-SSJ levels).

It's never really come up as an issue. I honestly don't see anyone, for example, trying to post and post and post and post to try and raise up their count to reach a new level. I don't see anyone ever complaining about any rank they're at. It's just always seemed like such a non-issue, and I see it more or less continuing that way.

If it ever becomes an issue, it'll be dealt with like any other issue. I don't really see that happening, though, with this group of people.

I like the post count, It shows you who has been on long and it makes it easier to trust people.

I'm not really complaining about the post counts, or even the post count ranks, it's just the names of the post count ranks that bug me. It just seems like 3/4th of the people here are 'newbie this' or 'newbie that' or 'newbie the other thing' and it just seems kind of silly. Not that it's some huge, horrible problem that will cause the board to explode or anything, but as long as this thread was open I thought I'd get it off my chest.
