Is your monitor dark? Because it's easy to see what going on with his shirt.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

My monitor is properly calibrated - I can't imaging how light your monitor would have to be to easily see the shadow behind his head.

Oh, that? I can still see it, although I had to look closely.

Oh, that? I can still see it, although I had to look closely.
Exactly. Even in the overly dark UUE frame, you can tell immediately; while the season set image is so dark you have to look closely after being told to look.

Not entirely true.

Sabat himself confirmed he wanted the line kept as "over 9000." While most of the script was recycled, he mentioned that that was a line he wanted to be kept unchanged.

I am confused by your statement, there was no Ultimate Uncut Edition of these episodes, the only releases are Dragonbox, Funi Single, and Season Set.

Well I could still sorta see it without having to see closely, it's just harder to notice it.

.... I haven't touched this post at all because I haven't seen Buu yet and didn't want to find out more than I already have. When I do click the post, the first thing I encounter is a discussion about Pic's shirt.

This... amuses me intensly.

And at the end of the day, who cares? When I watch an old Gundam show, or some other 80's/90's anime, I expect it to kind of look like ass by today's standards.

And who's really paying attention to Piccolo's shirt the whole time?

That's what I was about to say. Why dismiss the whole thing as crap because the back of Piccolo's shirt is too dark? And besides, that part is only about 5 seconds long, anyway.

I think the issue is it has been "remastered" ... so its not supposed to be in its original 80's form. But better.

Yeah, but you'd think by season six, people wouldn't be expecting FUNimation to be shitting out gold. We've seen their remastering process, there aren't any surprises here.

But that's what this thread is supposed to be about... "Season Six Discussion Thread" ... That's why everyone else posts and read, to see how much (or how little) things have changed with the video, audio, subtitles and whatnot. That's why jjgp1112 posted all of those shots. What else is supposed to be in a thread with the same title?

I have a tendency to vomit to anything I don't care for when I have just awoken; be it what I want to eat, what I want to listen to, or what I want to stare at or watch. In this case, the season 6 screenshots make me want to puke.

I'll still be purchasing these mutant babies, but Season 6 looks awkwardly worse in comparison to the singles imo. I'm no videophile, but this is as good as I can describe these shots: It's as if they made everything dark, and then brightened up the dark image so resulting in colors that sear your eye sockets.

I'm watching my season set in between wage slavery at Wal Mart, and the dark blues do look black. I noticed this with Piccolo and Gohan's clothes.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I think that unlike Season 1 & 2, these sets actually look pretty awesome on their own, but when compared to the Dragon Box, are bogged down to merely decent.

I think they look awesome as well. Not Dragonbox quality, but a good release. I have yet to see missing lines.

It's still there, but largely unnoticeable.
