Re: Could have Vegeta's Final Flash fully killed Perfect Cel
It makes absolutely no sense that Cell would be completely engulfed by either the instant Kamehameha or the Final Flash, and yet have only one a SPECIFIC area of his body be blown clean off. In both cases, it's very evident that Cell was caught off guard - I fully believe that had either Vegeta or Goku struck Cell's entire body (at least, definitely in his non-super form), they would've destroyed him. Those were powerful beams charged for a long time, and it's quite clear that characters in DBZ can produce attacks that are many times more powerful than their relative ability to block.
In Gohan's Kamehameha, we can plainly see that Cell is swimming in a sea of energy, and his body dissolves all at the same time.

I am not too sure on this but I read somewhere on another forum that Vegeta redirected the attack and moved the energy beam up at the last second hence why the attack skimmed across the surface of the Earth as it did. Had he not done that, Earth would have been history along with cell

I don't know about "redirecting" it, but he did manipulate the attack so that it wouldn't damage the Earth.AvatarReiko wrote:I am not too sure on this but I read somewhere on another forum that Vegeta redirected the attack and moved the energy beam up at the last second hence why the attack skimmed across the surface of the Earth as it did. Cell's body works in mysterious ways.
Anyway to answer the original question, I think that unless Cell pulled a nucleous, he would've been killed by the Final Flash had it hit his full body.

What i did not understand was why was Cell's face so shocked. He looked like he'd been beaten. Why would he react that way if he knew that he would just regenerate. Perhaps he still felt the pain of the attack. Also, maybe he did not think that Vegeta's attack wouldn't be as effective as it was.hleV wrote:Cell's body works in mysterious ways.

I always thought that Vegeta redirected the attack at the last second, and if he didn't, Cell would've died, but the planet would've been destroyed.

I doubt this. It was an amped attack that is much stronger than the user. I'd be willing to bet Goku would at least take considerable damage.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Fpssj Goku would tank that attack like a pro

Cell was much more surpassed against Vegeta than he was against Goku though.90sDBZ wrote:I doubt this. It was an amped attack that is much stronger than the user. I'd be willing to bet Goku would at least take considerable damage.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Fpssj Goku would tank that attack like a pro
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I think it'd require much more power than that Final Flash to actually kill Cell. Note how when he self destructed himself (during a state in which he had more power than Vegeta used to launch his Final Flash...) he still came back and regenerated all of his cells, and more? Even if Vegeta's attack made a direct strike he would have come back.

I'm pretty sure it was just dumb luck that Cell didn't die when hit with that attack, he seemed pretty stunned. I would like to think he attempted to move out of the way, but who knows really.
Re: Could have Vegeta's Final Flash fully killed Perfect Cel
Cell had reverted to his 2nd form by the time he self-destructed, so no, he most definitely wasn't stronger than Vegeta during his Final Flash.Eternal Super Saiyan wrote:I think it'd require much more power than that Final Flash to actually kill Cell. But then, it was 2nd form Cell surviving 2nd form Cell's self-destruction. Who knows how Super Vegeta's Final Flash compares to Perfect Cell.
Re: Could have Vegeta's Final Flash fully killed Perfect Cel
I think Vegeta could kill that version of Cell using Final Flash, but not a powered-up one. It looked like to me that Cell just dodged the attack at the last instant.

Angelus gets it. Great post.
Re: Could have Vegeta's Final Flash fully killed Perfect Cel
No. Cell would regenerate like Majin Buu did and after that he will have so much power (Saiyan DNA) that maybe not even Super Trunks could keep up with him.
Hmm, and where Cell had Android 18 all this time (Final Flash, Instant Kamehameha)?
If 18 is part of him and got destroyed by Goku's Kamehameha how Cell can still be in his perfect form?

Trunks couldn't keep up with Cell anyway, and Cell isn't Buu. His surviving his own self destruction was a freak accident that even he never expected would happen. There's no guarantee that he'd come back if he was struck full on by the Final Flash.TheRed259 wrote:No. Cell would regenerate like Majin Buu did and after that he will have so much power (Saiyan DNA) that maybe not even Super Trunks could keep up with him.
