Isn't that only because those scans have been re-worded in a language that the material has never been released in? I mean scans of the manga that have been re-typed have been posted here before but VegettoEX spoke against it since the material had been officially released in that language.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Only when it's legally available for English-speaking fans to buy. I mean, he has Neko Majin Z scans right on the site...SSj_Rambo wrote:but I just wanted to remind you that VegettoEX really hates it when people link to illegal download sites and post illegal scans and such.
From what I can tell the same doesn't count for video and subtitles; if it did than we would be able to legally download subbed versions of the "OVA", the Dragonball safety specials and lots of other cool stuff.

To get really technical, our avatars and all fanart and fanfiction are illegal as well, but that's all just part of the fine bizarre lines that define what is and isn't right in the world of fandom.

I know that Mike probably won't remove the links if they are put up (like he didn't remove the links to the safety specials or the scanlations) and I'm sure that he won't ban anyone for it, I just wanted to let Zuhalter2000 know that VegettoEX might not be totally supportive of the links if they are posted.

Most countries have 'fair use' laws, which most fan works would fall under.Velasa wrote:To get really technical, our avatars and all fanart and fanfiction are illegal as well, but that's all just part of the fine bizarre lines that define what is and isn't right in the world of fandom.
Laws vary from country to county, year to year, and often contradict each other. In fact, as it stands now, there are no clear laws towards sharing copyrighted material in Canada.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Exactly. I'm pretty sure Mike is only against the sharing of licensed material.
And for the record, Rambo, it's all illegal. Even the Neko Majin scans on the site.
Regardless, Mike's been clear he rather the specifics of such activities remain elsewhere.
(é) Yeah, I'm famous. Super famous. I start things.

Seriously, just leave Noone alone.
Anyway, so let me get this straight. VegettoEX is comfortable with links of the Traffic Safety and Fire Brigade stuff? Because I would love to get my hands on those, since for me it's impossible otherwise. I just would like to have them and burn them on a dvd to put them next to my dvd collection. Is that so wrong? :(
One thing that I am really hoping that they do not fill this special with is character/viewer interaction. By this I mean like when Goku pops up in the front of the screen and says something along the lines of "Hi! I'm Son Goku, blah blah blah blah blah blah" to the viewer(s). By this I mean what was used in the next episode previews (example here) and in almost all of the movie previews.
Don't get me wrong, I love having my beloved characters talk to me; and other than the "OMG! Goku's talking to ME!!!!!!!" emotion/feeling that pops up inside of me it really is great to listen to Goku or Gohan or Trunks talk in a manner directed toward me. It is a great tactic that was used in many of the Dragonball merchandise commercials and promos and I love Japan for doing such.
But when it comes to the movies/specials (especially since none of the other ones used this tactic and I love it when things stick to a tradition) I'd rather the characters go about there business and do work on the bad guys without stopping to talk to me every five minutes.
They did this character/viewer interaction thing a lot in the Televikko Atsumare Goku World infomercial and it was cool to be able to engage in some form of interaction with what was going on in the video, but at some times Goku's pausing to ask us questions that sometimes were very obvious reminded me a lot of Dora the Explorer (Goku's extremely low level of intelligence really didn't help him not personify this).
Honestly I would actually enjoy it if in the very beginning of the special, with the 2005 version of Cha-La Head Cha-La playing in the background, Goku came up to the front of the screen and said something like "Yo! I'm Son Goku and these are my friends, and now we're back!!" (yes, a homage to the title). I would enjoy that very much (not just because I love having conversations with Earth's greatest hero) and I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did that (like they did in the Dragonball/One Piece/Astro Boy/Street Fighter crossover I-Max style videos they show at Odaiba [Link~Link]) but that is personally where I would like it to stop (except for maybe in the very end of the special (but then again I would like Yanami Jouji, the seiyū for the narrarator, have the final closing words like he did in the series)). If they have Goku and/or Kuririn/Yamcha/Tien/Vegeta/Trunks/Gohan/Goten constantly turning around and talking to me it just won't have that classic Dragonball movie feel that I am really hoping for in this special.

*That is just what I think you should consider, not my personal suggestion as to what you should do.

I really don't want to drag out another big discussion about this, but from what I can tell, VegettoEX simply didn't have enough (if at all) of a problem with the links to remove them. Whether or not you want to download the specials as apposed to buying the $800+ Dragonball Dragonbox is totally up to you, and wether or not you truly believe that downloading them is not stoping you from buying the official release.DNA wrote:Anyway, so let me get this straight. I'm reading a bunch of comments about "legal issues" about posting links or torrents to the Dragonball Special on the forum. If it against the rules to post torrents or downloads here, just send a pravite message to the members who want them. Everyone wins! And just to make it clear I asked first.
I feel the same way when I watch Dora the explorer or blues clues. I just burst with overwhelming emotions when my heroes ask for my help and all I have to do is just by point at the screen at missing items or blue paw prints... Okay thats wasn't fair, I have to admit I am gitty like school girl on pixy sticks every time I read something new about DB special. Just seeing Goku & Co. do something beside whoring themselves to sell games or participating in shitty crossovers will bring a childish smile across my usual uncaring face. I actually believe I will burst with happiness and nostalgia when I get a chance to see it, unless of course it sucks then I will combust in disappointment and shame.SSj_Rambo wrote:Don't get me wrong, I love having my beloved characters talk to me; and other than the "OMG! SSj_Rambo: I totally understand your point but I'm definitely not going to spend $800+ on something that I would not enjoy for not understanding the language it's in. And no, I'm not going to spend about 1000€+ and 3+ years of my life to learn Japanese. I'd rather spend that in a language that will actually be useful for me in the future.
I don't know what to make of this.backthen wrote:Check out this video guys

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

That picture has been floating around for a little bit. It looks like someone just took it and slapped some fake music on top of it.backthen wrote:Check out this video guys

Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

I'm more interested in the picture, i like the coloring on tarbel in that pic, plus it looks like a screen from possible digital animation.Herms wrote:That picture has been floating around for a little bit.
