Yeah, I noticed that too, but I think that only happened because Bardock especially got stronger and stronger at an insane rate - kind of a punishment or something... whatever.
But you're absolutely right with that.

Then again, in any way, you can argue about how much sense it makes that exactly 4 Saiyans survive that onslaught... like always the best idea is to sit back, enjoy the show and don't think too much :D

-Nappa wasn't an Elite Saiyan at the time of the Bardock special, so when Vegeta didn't need him, he was sent to help a fellow Low Level Saiyan.

In fact, it explains why Freeza didn't have Radditz killed off. He wanted Vegeta as his pet, and Vegeta knew of Nappa's whereabouts. If Nappa was killed off, Freeza would have to explain why to Vegeta. If Radditz was killed off, Nappa would tell Vegeta and Freeza would still have to explain why to Vegeta. Since Radditz and Nappa were so weak (and therefore not threats), it was just easier to let them live and serve Vegeta.
I agree, but I think, Nappa was an elite Saiyan all along, the first two points could be right though (they make sense if nothing else).

As for killing the remaining Saiyans:
Apart from wanting to have Vegeta as his "pet", why should Freezer bother to kill a single space pot (with Goku) or some other Saiyans that were on a mission somewhere?
He was concerned about what MIGHT happen if a whole race of Saiyans gets stronger and stronger - the remaining handful didn't pose a threat to him, they were controllable.
I think Freeza was more worried about the Super Saiyan Legend and that he used their teaming up as a cover story for his troops. Speaking of troops, we see in the special that Freeza had his goons kill off any Saiyan that was off-world at the time of the planet's destruction. The only Saiyan he seemed content with letting stay alive was Vegeta and whoever was with him.

I think of it as a "fun special" based loosely on a concept that might have been used, if Toriyama actually had continued DB instead of finishing it with a 10 years time shift.
But this special is just for entertainment, so we shouldn't argue about plot holes in it or continuity.
Table's age for instance doesn't matter then - because if it was a real "sequel" to the manga, I am sure they would have put a little more thought in it, but it's more like a simple "birthday fun special", so we all shouldn't care too much about it ^^
Otherwise we would end up discussing every plot hole in it from the "Buu-wish" to Vegeta's clothing continuity.
It's not so much that we're angry it doesn't take place in continuity, so much as it's one small (yet obvious) oversight that keeps it from being an in-continuity sequel to the manga inspired by Toriyama himself. I think it's safe to say we all view this as the other DBZ movies: a fun special side-story.

Extended "a" sounds in Japanese are often romanized as "ar", like with Zarbon (za-bon).

True, but at that point, wouldn't the name-pun break down?

Is the elongated 'taa' sound what one would normally use to romanize that part of vegetable? If so, his name is best written as 'Table'; if not, his name should reflect that change.

No, it's bejitaburu in Japanese. But nobody writes Bejiita as "Vegeeta."

Due to both FUNimation and VIZ calling him that, no doubt.

Were people not allowed to bring cameras inside? Is that why there haven't been any more screenshots or any videoclips yet? :?:

Sorry, I don't mean to sound impatient, but I'm just curious. ^^;

About as much as the "Zarbon" one did. And yet the world keeps spinning. ^^

It's possible. I've been patted down and metal-detectored prior to a sneak preview of a movie before. They wouldn't even allow cell phones in the theatre. Seems unlikely that they'd be able to enforce such rules for a festival though.

But when I think about it, aren't there only one or two sources for the other live-screening-only DB videos? Maybe they're very strict about recording devices. At least there are several more screenings coming up.

About Tahbul being so young - maybe he somehow was sent forward in time from back when Freeza hadn't yet destroyed Planet Vegeta...

I've been addictively checking this thread multiple times for the past two days hoping to see screenshots and/or a link to a videoclip. ^^;

You see, I figure, if there are videoclips of the DB/OP and DB/OP/Kochikame specials online, then logically wouldn't this special have clips as well?

I doubt time travel is involved, though I don't really know. But it appears that Table is just a shorty. But if he is a kid, maybe its something to do with the planet he's been living on, keeping him young or something. He is after all married to some little weirdo looking alien, who knows what kind of planet it is.

Logically, but how many people visited those specials when they were (still are?) playing, and we have one or two sources for them? This might have to be shown a few times before someone posts it online.

Understandable.

I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait a few more weeks then. ^^;
*And hope that Sera draws some fanart of the special so I can kinda-sorta get a better picture of what it looks like.

~continuity~

Ta(r)ble's age: Saiyans only seem to get tall and look older at puberty (see Goku beng the same up until his growth splert at Kami's). So I'mjust assuming that Table was castrated, and thus retained his youthful appearance. Perhaps there's some messed up backstory involving this and his wife...
Goku's punch: wasn't that described as ... special, somehow (but not dragonfist)? With all his heart and soul, or something?
(Oh, jees. Now I'm imagining a strength debate over Aka. In the same special where they tried to hit home one last time that power levels are meaningless. XD ).

Umm... Buu... ur... yeah... I can tollerate that one. I guess. :?

What else was there? Hmm...

~else~

... Waaaaaah! This story fills me with glee! Goten-kun ga kakoi~i! </fangirl-ness... ur... from a boy>.
Well, Tenshinhan wasn't particularly social, I guess. Neither was Yajirobe, really... but hey, free food seems like it'd tempt him. :).
... Not only are the supreme rulers of the universe hanging out drinking, but hanging out with who was their worst enemy only two years prior (and containing the rimnents of some manner of colleagues). Somehow that feels ... fitting on several different levels.
