The Evolution of Dragon Ball Kai - Wrong date?

Post by DBZGTKOSDH » Tue May 01, 2012 1:38 pm

The Evolution of Dragon Ball Kai feature in Kanzenshuu says that it was written back in March 2010. Wasn't this feature released in Kanzentai after Kai ended in Japan, and after My Dragon Box Isn’t Perfect?! feature? It has statistics from 2011, and mentions that Kai is over in Japan, so how was this written in 2010? I can clearly remember it some time after the end of Kai. Also, in Kanzentai, it's date says March 21, 2010 & it's marked as Feature #10, but it's placed after My Dragon Box Isn't Perfect?! which says April 26, 2010 & it's marked as Feature #9. It's current date is an error, right?

Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

You're right -- that doesn't make any sense :P. I just copied the date as-is from Kanzentai, and since I was working on multiple things at once, the placement in relation to other features didn't even occur to me.

Quick look at archive.org says it was posted on March 21st, 2011... so yeah, it was just one number off in the year. Thanks! I shall correct it.

Looks like you're right. Wayback doesn't have a record for it until June 2011 (previous record for December 2010 doesn't have it). So it could actually have been posted March 2011, but the linked PDF from Namco Bandi is dated May 2011. And looking into the news archives, it doesn't appear as if Namco Bandi releases the reports early (search listing and the specific report).

So the feature was originally published no earlier than May 5th and no later than June 24th, 2011.

-edit- Just saw Mike's post - Mike, what about the May financial report?

Not only that, but Kai ended after March 21st.

I pulled up a Google cached version of the actual update from Kanzentai dated Monday, March 21st. Not sure what Heath added to it in between its original post and then porting it to Kanzenshuu (and I probably proof-read and added to it myself!), but yeah, that was the original post date.
